New girl drummer is good. She of course sounds different on some stuff. Nothing against her, I just selfishly want Neil and no one else.

She’s fine and really talented. I just don’t think most people appreciate how ridiculous Neil was. Watched a video of him playing Tom Sawyer and how effortlessly he makes that track look is absurd.

They may as well add on a residency at the Sphere. They'd kill it and probably sell out for as long as they'd want to stay there.

Called it!

I haven't had any urge to go to the new tour, but at the Sphere, I may go just for the show and spectacle and for a trip to Vegas.

You’re missing out, it’s incredible.

Geddy has had some vocal problems on this tour, which is understandable at his age and a hard tour.

A residency like the Sphere would be great for them, because they would likely only perform 2-3 nights a week, with no travel. Geddy can rest his voice, etc.

It's also a more controlled environment, so less sound checks, etc.

Checked out a couple of videos of recent shows in Madison Square Garden. Observations:

1. Yep, Geddy's voice is shot. It sounds really bad. Get that man some phantom singers beneath the stage. Rush nerds will excuse it, but it is really hard to listen to.

2. They are playing really well! For being 10 years older than their last tour, they are really playing well. Playing better than they did on the last tour in 2015. That is great! I'm sure having some young blonde back there giving it to those drums pushes the old dudes.

Surely they have some realistic "autotune" type assistance they can give people. I don't want him singing to tracks or anything, but maybe a boost on the high notes.

This is exactly why I didn’t shell out all that money for tickets. I first saw them on Snakes & Arrows tour in 2007 & Geddy sounded great. On the R40 Tour in 2015 you could tell he was struggling on & off with his voice but the show was still great. We are in 2026 so this should not be a shock to anyone.

Doesn't even need that. Just put someone side or back stage that can hit the higher notes and have them sing harmony and then Geddy can sing in a little lower register and won't sound like he's struggling. When he sings stuff in lower register, it sounds decent.

I don't think they need to be secretive about it and hide them. Lots of musical acts have backup singers. Put them out in the open, so it doesn't seem dubious.

Or, what would've been the best option, is to hire a keyboard player that could sing, and give him that backup role. They were adding a keyboard player anyway, there are hundreds of those out there that can sing.

That would have been ideal. That poor guy, he doesn't even get to play the signature keyboard parts. You can still see Geddy playing them in clips. Come on, give the guy a shot to get a little spotlight.
