From Fly By Night through Signals, Rush's Geddy Lee was a FANTASTIC rock singer. Incredible range and melodic sense. From the mid 80's on, it was all down hill.

Fair enough Nancy, though I stand by my comments.
I'll add my own then.
Rush may be very good technically at what they do but they have always been boring to me.
Van Halen was not exciting either.
Metallica didn't really sell out. They just grew in a direction we didn't like.

I think Creed is hated more for Scott Stapp’s off stage shenanigans and persona more than their music. As a result, they became the first “cool to hate” band on the internet. Nickelback soon followed after Avril Lavigne ditched the Sum 41 front man (i.e. sk8ter boi) to marry Chad Kroeger.

That album was a total letdown. A band with a killer rhythm section, a HOF singer, yet they produced nothing but boring radio-friendly rock.
Audioslave is nothing more than the Foo Fighters with Tom Morello’s crappy guitar styles. And after hearing the same overly phased wahwah solo on another boring song, I’d honestly take the FooFighters.

Matthew Sweet is not only one of the most underrated artists of the 1990's but released 3 b2b albums (Girlfriend, Altered Beast, 100% Fun) that are in the debate for best album trio in that decade.

Foo Fighters might not be the greatest band on earth, but they're the last old-school rock band we have IMO and they put on a fricking phenomenal show.

Whether it's thrash metal like Metallica or Slayer or groove like Pantera or death like Cannibal Corpse or The Faceless. The list is pretty long. And that's because most metalheads don't want to listen to it.
And of the ones I've heard of, they suck.
