tough one,
probably Jane's since they were favorite band in high school.

but J Mascis is an incredible songwriter.

I was never huge on the Pixies. I even saw them in concert once 20 years ago and they never did it for me.

Pixies = most influential band since the late 80s IMO.

I still listen to their music all the time. Saw them at the varsity in the dark ages, and again in Charlotte recently. They rock arse. Total originality.

Pixies are by far the most influential and it's really not close. All 3 are great bands although Jane's Addiction is definitely a notch below the other two.

Dinosaur Jr. slightly better than The Pixies and both WAY more than Jane's Addiction.

Pixies, but all three are quality.

I had no idea how popular they were until TD.

When I was listening to them back in early 90's, I didn't know of anyone else doing so, and had several friends that listened to DJR and JA.

When I was living on State street back in late 80s-90s, many people I knew worshiped the Pixies.

It was a major life event when 120 minutes showed "Here Comes You Man" the first time.

eta: Same thing for They Might Be Giants "Dont Lets Start"

its sounds cool to say you like Dinasaur Jr, but their music just doesn't cut muster with the other two bands. Love Pixies and JA. They are different bands. I believe the Pixies probably had a greater influence on other bands but JA has a deeper catalogue in my humble opinino.
