Don't forget Slipknot at Champions Square
_________________________________________________

This will be epic. No lie. Oh to have a room at the Hyatt up above & be able to look down onto the pit at this show. This will be the first metal show at Champions Square as far as I can remember. I wonder how loud they will be able to get & how much pyro they will allow there since it is outdoors & downtown? That would also be funny if the Pelicans were able to make the playoffs & had a home playoff game that same night. The crowd mixture would be interesting.

I didn't even think about that remote possibility. Pels' playoffs would come first, but it'd be a major bummer to miss Slipknot. I'm so used to not planning around games that time of year.

This will be our first Jazzfest, where is the best place to park and ride to the festival?

Get there early and park on the street.

Also, apparently Dave Matthews Band is announcing a tour later this week. So they are my official guess to be the TBA for 2nd Sunday.

I agree. And I don't know if that's true but somebody said it on the Jazz Fest forum.

Edited to add: Apparently it's true they're about to announce a tour. LINK

I'm glad they upgraded the Artist Announcement video from last year. Last year's was kind of embarrassing.

I would have rather them just put No Doubt with those Sunday acts than DMB.

How so? I thought it was cool how they covered different parts of the city with a different looking cgi concept. It was rather unique.

what's the opinion here of The Givers? I thought I was digging them a bit and haven't seen them around much in it seems like forever. I'd like to catch that set.

I thought they sounded great at voodoo, I was impressed. She was great singing and playing the drums the whole time.
