Jimmy Chamberlin and Danny Carey are as good as any of the drummers you guys are talking about.

He's very flashy so for people that don't know a lot about drumming, he looks like he's really good.

He wouldn't disagree either.
He would be too high/drunk to participate in the conversation.
My list:
-Bonham
-Moon
-Baker
-Chamberlin
-Carey
Bonham is 1 but other than that I can change them on any given day. Bonham & Moon are like the Hendrix of drums IMO. They were all over the place, not overly technical, and they played whatever felt good...it came from the soul
Honorable Mention:
-Grohl (makes his way to top 5 from time to time)
-Matt Abts (not flashy or super well known but I've always enjoyed his playing)
-Josh Freese
-Taylor Hawkins (personal favorite modern drummer)
-Travis Barker (love him or hate him, you can't say he isn't talented)
-Tony Royster Jr.
-Zak Starkey

Eh...that's a bit unfair to say. He IS flashy but that doesn't mean he isn't good. He's extremely talented. You can't sit behind a kit like his and play it as well as he does if you aren't good. He's creative as hell too.
ETA: He's discussed using a click before. I don't think many guys could play with Rush without one. 2+ hours of playing in front of a paying audience with as many time changes as they have? I would do it as well.
ETA2: Why doesn't Ringo get more love in these discussions? By no means is he the GOAT but he's extremely underrated. "Least talented" Beatle? Probably, but that's like being 4th in your class at MIT. When Lennon released his first solo album, who did he tap for a drummer? Ringo

He has a point though. Peart has been elevated to some deity like status for some reason. He's damn good but "music geeks" have gone too far with it.

He's a very modest man. WTF do you think he would say? You just like to bash Rush which is fine and call him overrated and then you drop Bonham's name. Which is funny. They're totally different so it really comes down to who do you prefer. Is either choice going to be wrong?
I don't think there is a best drummer. Here are the ones I like though:
