We're way behind schedule

The back half of Wilco's catalog is absolutely amazing. The stuff since they all became middle/old aged fathers. Meh.

Nirvana
Radiohead
Springsteen
U2
White Stripes/Jack White

Too many singers to name - many have great voices but not necessarily generational

"college rock" bands - sucked!

The best music produced in any of our lifetimes.

I think lots of people have heard the name, King Crimson, yet could not name a member of the band, nor a single song.

How anyone could honestly list the Beatles or Billy Joel as “overrated,” floors me.

Two of the greatest ever lyrically and musically, genius really.

Nah, I hate dirty, drugged-out hippies and the pointless, noodling shite bands they adore.

Except for this person who's seen Robert Fripp and King Crimson may times. One of my favorite live bands.

pearl jam- they are fine but if prime pearl jam and prime Alice in Chains are playing at the same time at music festival, i am going to the AIC stage

The music press grouped AiC and Pearl Jam together out of laziness and geographical proximity. They're nothing alike.

PJ has a wonderful catalog, and is a great band in its own right. But I don't see how they are realistically comparable

They obviously have lots of fans. That wasn't the point at all.

I'm never leaving the house if those are my two best options.

Huey Lewis and the News

No one was ever influenced by Huey Lewis and the News. The closest thing to a band Huey Lewis and the News ever influenced were the San Francisco 49ers.

Damn near every alternative/college radio rock band in the 80s. Especially if they came out of Minnesota.

Sonic Youth
The Replacements
Husker Du
The Jayhawks
The Smiths
The Cure

Springsteen is a similar case. Of course, many don't understand his appeal or popularity (especially on here) but I don't think that he is considered to be influential on other artists.
