If not for ‘Holier than Thou’, would The Black Album be the perfect LP?

It irritates me every time to have to hit skip to get from Sad But True to Unforgiven.

Holier than Thou is fine - great main riff and guitar solo. There are much more forgettable songs on Black Album, like Struggle Within and Don't Tread on Me.

Nah - It's far from their best album with or without that song.
But I don't think it's a terrible album. They set the bar damn high with their first four. Hard to sustain that.
And I like Holier than Thou. It's still on my workout playlist.

Black album is ok. Still some real solid songs: wherever I may roam, the god that failed, sad but true, and my friend of misery make it a decent record. Their first 4, particularly Puppets and Justice are so unbelievably good it’s hard to maintain that. Puppets, IMO, is perfection. I can listen to it constantly and forget about anything else at the time.

Of Wolf and Man kind of is that song for me. Super generic verse riff. Holier at least has some pace to it.
