I was shocked at how much love from the indie music world some second/third-tier jamband was getting. They were like everywhere... Cillian Murtphy talking about his son turning him onto them and all sorts of other "cultural icons" singing their praises. Then I finally realized that Geese was a different band from Goose.

According to Youtube Music, my favorite album of the year was Andrew Duhon's Parish Album. I really have enjoyed it.

I’m loving that Sharp Pins album. Thanks for rec. Had no clue this was Lifeguard guy. I think this is even better than Lifeguard, which I really like.

To be honest, I don't really listen to whole albums hardly ever, but here's a couple that stood out to me:

The Sound a Body Makes When It's Still - Hot Mulligan

There's a Whole World Out There - Arm's Length

NEVER ENOUGH - TURNSTILE

Pachinko - Moron Police

TBH, I didn't care for most of the new album releases I heard this year. I liked a fair number of singles, but most of my favorite current bands (Dirty Honey, Kublai Khan Tx, Knocked Loose, Paramore, Blink 182, Save Face, The Requiem, Fall Out Boy, Pierce the Veil, Sum 41, etc) just released absolute banger albums in 2022-2024, so they just didn't have an album drop last year. Some of my favorite up and coming bands only released singles last year.

Most of the music I've bought this year is stuff from the past. 2025 albums for me, there has only been two: Dream Theater's Parasomnia and Hurry Up Tomorrow from The Weeknd.

5. Bill Fox- Resonance Terminal Way

I did not know he was recording again... will need to check this out..

I had never heard of him until I heard the Nada Surf cover. I think it was my most played song of 2025.
