Anyone have an update or additional information?

The Hard Rock posted this morning that the show is "currently scheduled as planned," but "[a]ny changes will be announced promptly."
Like many, I am just learning of this guy and experiencing his music. I share the "holy shite" sentiments. Powerhouse. Greatly looking forward to seeing him Friday night at Hogs. Outstanding musician and performer.
Steven Wilson: Porcupine Tree, Solo, Blackfield, Storm Corrosion, No-Man, Bass Communion

Mike Portnoy: Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment, Transatlantic, Avenged Sevenfold, Neal Morse Band, etc.

Phil Anselmo: Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual
Anyone know the show start time? I see conflicting information online, but most likely doors 6:30, show 7:30. Also, is Temptation the only opener? Thanks.
I've lived in Bucktown for 15 years. Cannot recall water levels remotely approaching these (aside from Ida, when we got TF). Rain has subsided, but winds still blowing, fairly fiercely.

I live a block from the Lake (2" to go before water intrusion), but my friend/neighbor lives on the corner of W. Esp. (water already in her residence). I can confirm Pontiff pumps are not currently operational.

Life and limb...safe. But, insane water levels for a C1/2.

Lastly, God bless the information providers in here, and God damn the idiotioc, foolish, shite-posting, excrement-worshipping buffoons flooding the thread with floating garbage.

Peace.

The first song, perhaps (through a narrow lens). Listen to the entire album and report back.

Moon Safari

Greetings, music fans.

Quick note: For fans of elaborate, fun, technically profound, often epic progressive rock, I humbly suggest checking out Moon Safari from Sweden.

I personally started the journey with their latest album, Himlabacken Vol. 2, a treasure trove of spectacular songwriting and execution. Your ears and orbitofrontal cortex will surely thank you.

Enjoy, if you so choose, and have a nice weekend.

re: Best Brunch in New Orleans?

RE: The Court...

Largely slept on as a tourist haven; perhaps partially true. But, the food is underrated. More importantly, if you sit in the courtyard on a pretty day, with live/legit jazz music faintly tickling your ears as you dine and sip, and the rays of the sun just barely kiss your table beneath the foliage above, I'd challenge the Johnny-Come-Latelys to a better experience.

It's a wonderful spot for brunch. That's just my two sense(s): Taste and Experience.
Sex is integral to a sound marriage, at least in my 42-year-old existence.

Is it seminal? Possibly not. I have three kids, coach them in numerous sports, integrally involved in their lives, etc. Likewise rewarding. Particularly so for a large volume of unrelated reasons.

But, sex still, after 15 years of mostly positive marriage experience: (1) refreshes our gig; (2) feels great; (3) decreases the mundane aspect of daily grind; and (4) on a good day, performance-wise, provides a reason for freshly laundered sheets the following evening.

Sex with a committed partner is very valuable, in this writer's opinion.
My wife and I are taking our three boys to GWL for a few days this week. Any recommendations for restaurants in the area? Appreciate any insight. God bless.

Earthside

PSA: For fans of thoughtful, ambitious, spatial, surreal, and simultaneously jarring but moving progressive music, I highly encourage you to check out Earthside's new album ("let the truth speak").

This band is rapidly ascending in the prog world. Strap onto the rocket while while you still can.
Does anyone know what approximate time MMJ will take the stage in NOLA tonight?

Downtown Dallas (Hotel Indigo)

Posted by Knox Harrington on 10/25/23 at 10:21 pm
We have a small group (4) traveling from Bucktown to downtown Dallas early Friday for a long weekend centered around a Saturday night concert.

We are seeking and thankful for recommendations for dinner reservations, preferably (1) within walking, or at least short Ubering distance; (2) upscale casual, something in the ballpark of Peche (though not necessarily the same cuisine - we are flexible); and (3) where reservations are likely to be available. Other suggestions that fit less than all, and possibly none of the above criteria are welcome.

Relatedly, we are looking for a brewery or multiple breweries in the same area we can consider after golfing Saturday morning, after returning to the hotel to regrettably retrieve the wives.

All input is appreciated regarding any or all of the above. Much abliged.
First (non-festival): Veruca Salt & Bush (UNO, 3-25-97)
Last: Between the Buried and Me (HOB, 7-23-23)
Next: Coheed & Cambria (Fillmore, 9-10-23)
BreauxPete - where are you located?

Golf Cart / LSV Question(s)

Posted by Knox Harrington on 6/8/23 at 4:26 pm
I am in the market for a golf cart, mainly to drive around my neighborhood (Bucktown in JP), but potentially beyond. In preliminarily researching, it appears that (1) only designated LSVs (low speed vehicles) can legally operate on ANY street, regardless of speed limit, aside essentially from designated roadways which are generally near golf courses; and (2) only LSVs are sold with a title (golf carts are sole with serial number and possibly a chain of manufacture).

Apparently, I could still purchase a golf cart and insure it, but the DMV would not provide a plate without a title. Of course, people drive golf carts around residential neighborhoods in which they are not allowed all the time, without plates (and sometimes without insurance).

Is any of the above inaccurate? I want to make sure I have the issues refined before I make a purchase.

And, second question: Can anyone recommend a used LSV and/or golf cart dealer within about an hour of NOLA?

Any and all input and information is greatly appreciated.

re: R.I.P. Wayne Shorter

He played (fantastically) on two of my favorite jazz records ever, which both happen to be Miles masterpieces: "In a Silent Way" and "Bitches Brew."

Obviously, his career requires no heralding, but the man was a magician on the sax.

I wish we had more musicians like Wayne Shorter around, genre irrelevant. He will be missed. RIP.
