For me it seems like most of what I listen to is in the late 90’s to early 00’s indie/underground scene. I’ll listen to new stuff every now and then but it seems like rarely does something new become part of my regular rotation and I keep falling back to the stuff I grew up with.

I think it’s just me getting older and my deep delve into music phase was when I was younger. Ans now I have to listen to the stuff my kids like and it seems like garbage, especially my daughter lol. It’s all pop. My son luckily has a pretty broad taste range and listens to basically everything and I’ve got him into some of the stuff I liked.

I dunno, maybe it’s just me

Kinda but not really. Just about everything that I listen to was released in the 20th century but I've been finding a lot of "new" music to get into, especially Jazz and Bossa Nova.

I can’t get away from late-60s/early70s Motown/Top 40 music. I’m locked in on it like the Millennium Falcon in the Death Star’s tractor beam.

Kinda the same / still listen to stuff I liked prior to high school that my dad listened to - Beatles - Eagles - Jackson Browne, rod Stewart - stuff from high school - Pink Floyd - Van Halen - U2 -ramones- ozzy / sabbath stuff from college - REM - grunge - and beyond - Chris Isaak - sting - police -

But also went thru a new music phase several years ago and (thankfully) discovered -Arctic Monkeys, Last Shadow puppets, Lana del rey, metric, phantogram, Florence & the machine, fleet foxes, fitz and tantrums and Mumford and sons among other smaller acts

I feel these new groups have pulled me into the 21st century without having to listen to Billie Ilish, bro country and all the other shitty music that’s being pushed today.

Yes, I’m stuck in an early 00’s rut. Been listening to practically nothing other than The National, The Walkmen, Spoon, and Low for the last few weeks.

I really have made some effort to find modern stuff I like. As a rock fan primarily, that's just about hopeless. Some stuff has potential, but this being the era of the bedroom producer, it's like 5% good to a 95% mix of average and mediocre.

That's mostly off the pop scene. Pop music has drowned in tiresome hip-hop for nearly three decades.

No but I do have a harder time finding good music in the 2010-present period. I just think this period kind of sucks though, which is odd since we've never had more access to music. Popular garbage still dominates.

60-70: the classics and blueprint;
70-80: best decade of music ever;
80-90: punk, new wave, rap, and metal;
90-00: not my favorite;
00-10: Flaming Lips, Modest Mouse, Spoon, Radiohead,White Stripes,Interpol, Beck, Elliot Smith, some hip hop classics.
10-20: not my favorite.

I don’t listen to a ton of stuff from the last 10 years, and when I do, it’s usually stuff meant to sound older.

I branch out a little, but I’m pretty much stuck in the 90’s early 2000’s. Although, I went to see Like Moths to Flames and ERRA opening for August Burns Red last night and I had a very good time. I had never listened to any of them previously, not really into metalcore that much. It was just really nice to finally go see some bands.

Yes. I still listen mostly to the 60's - 80's music.

I couldn't tell you the names of most modern singers today. Most of newer music to me isn't what real music is supposed to be. Singing isn't as good either.

Not really. Although the list of stuff from 2010 forward is pretty thin.

I love being late to the party as well. I started listening to Turnpike Troubadours for the first time this year. Having 5 albums to go through was pretty damn cool. Did the same with Nada Surf before that. Before that, I thought Bandwagonesque was all I needed to hear from Teenage Fanclub. Dug deeper and that got me through a good period of time discovering the rest.

no

I might be off in relation to the times, as in not hearing when something new (or fashionable), however there's so much still to enjoy out there, that being stuck in my high school or college days would suck beyond all manner of comprehension, and hurt my psyche.

I pretty much like guitar based rock (indie/post-punk/power pop/garage rock) and Americana/Roots music... across all decades.

That said, I find the last 15 years or so, the quality is becoming harder and harder to come by, though its still out there... I also have far less time to seek it out...

A good song is a good song though and I can appreciate music from almost any genre... even if its in the moment to for a few days..
