Do you not understand creative irony? I think Neil Young is a raging piece of shite, but this is not a dig that lands. He used the banjo on purpose

Young is one of the best songwriters of the 20th Century. There is no real doubt
about that.
There was never an actual personal quarrel between Van Zandt and Young.

None of the songs have "Nazi arse lyrics."
Besides, this was settled, what, fifty years ago?
Agree. Both of those songs are poetic and timely considering what was going on in the South in the late sixties early seventies. My big disappointment with Neil Young was when he tried to censor anyone who didn't fall in line with the government's dictates concerning covid.

I don't think Neil is poor by anyone's definition.
Both are great songs.

How can a geriatric singer who lives on a rural piece of farmland in Northern California “sensor” anyone?
Personally, I find it easier to separate the art from the artist. A crappy singer isn’t made good just by appealing to a voting demographic.

He demanded that Spotify ban Joe Rogan's podcast because Joe was skeptical of the government mandates about covid. When Spotify refused, he took "his" music off of the platorm. He tried to silence Joe Rogan and a certain opinion by heavy handed means. I am not sure why you are using the incorrect spelling of censor as in censorship.

I never liked Neil Young anyway but this response by Lynyrd Skynyrd may not have been as contentious as it seems according to Songfacts

Some of the lyrics are a jab at Neil Young:
I hope Neil Young will remember
A southern man don't need him around anyhow
Young had written songs like "Southern Man" and "Alabama," which implied that people in the American South were racist and stuck in the past.
Skynyrd responded with "Sweet Home Alabama," a song about Southern pride and all the good things in Alabama.
The feud between Lynyrd Skynyrd and Neil Young was always good-natured fun; they were actually mutual fans. Skynyrd lead singer Ronnie Van Zant often wore Neil Young T-shirts onstage and is wearing one on the cover of Street Survivors, the last Skynyrd album released before his death.
When Songfacts spoke with Rickey Medlocke, a member of the band in their early years who returned to the fold in 1996, he said that Van Zant "loved Neil Young." Added Medlocke, "I know there has been a lot of controversy about Neil Young and Ronnie having some kind of tiff, but they really didn't."

Neil Young is demonstrably an idiot. People may like his music, but as a person he is not a bright man.
Just watch the Sound City doc and listen to him talk about digital audio. This is from a man who was pawning his own digital music player and he had little idea what he was talking about.

Neil may not know digital audio(although I suspect he does), but his songwriting demonstrates intelligence…

gene clark, the best songwriter in the byrds and country-rock pioneer, was never seen to read a book, magazine or newspaper. not exactly the same thing as intelligence of course, but a telling sign

When is he going to apologize for the rest of his music?

Skynyrd never hit a ceiling.
Full potential they are superior than Neil Young.

Lyrics criticizing the historical racism of a location are Nazi lyrics?

I think the technical term is gaslighting, but it’s more accurate to just say OP is a mouthbreather retard.
