Your buddies sound like posers who liked chick music

Nah, the posers all listened to Good Charlotte, The Used, My Chemical Romance, and Simple Plan. My buds were just a bunch of 12 year olds lacking fully formed musical palettes, at just the right age for that music to resonate.

This is terrible news. I loved Linkin Park back in the early 2000s. They had some of my favorite music. I thought Chester was a legit talent and it's terrible to see him go. But honestly, it doesn't matter whether or not someone likes the music. As someone who's very familiar with the topic, it's sad to see someone lose their battle with mental illness in general. But that's just me. I pray for his kids and family.

RIP Chester.

Lincoln Park, Hawthorne Heights, Yellowcard, Sum 41, Greenday, and Blink 182 were probably the most prominent bands my skater buddies listened to back then. Pop punk and emo bands were in back then (2000-2005)

Buzz, your skater friends music....WOOF

One of my favorite Bennington tracks wasn't released under his name or linkin park's name and I'm not sure many of you would know it.

I was listening to Metallica, Megadeth, and Alice In Chains when I was 12. That's no excuse.

Loved LP in middle school and high school. Hell, they were still a guilty pleasure.

kingbob: "True, but skaters blasted it all the same."

(Narrator: Actual skaters did not blast it all the same. They made fun of Linkin Park while listening to Millencolin )

Never got into them, even as a teen that was into rock in that era.... but really unfortunate. That's a lot of kids without a dad.

2000-2004 was probably the funnest time of my life, so anything from that time period makes me nostalgic .... I loved LP back then, and still enjoy their music... RIP
