"The Pod", "I'd Like Your Hair Long", "Iron Clad Lou", "If You Are to Bloom", "The Scientists", "Cloud City". All songs by Hum better than "Stars".

most people know the clash by their radio hits, which are...not that great.

my initial exposure was 'this is radio clash' and bought 'combat rock' thinking it was on there

a $7 cassette tape was like 3 weeks of hard work for young CAD so i was going to damn well listen to every song i spent money on and ended up falling in love with the clash from the 'off hits' on that tape.
damn i wore that tape out. it was the first tape into the monte carlo's sanyo tape deck when i got out of school every afternoon

Modest Mouse "Float On". It's a fine song but I like most all of their other songs better.

Dire Straights has obvious mega-hits, and while I'll always love Sultans of Swing, Roller Girl has been and will always be my favorite of theirs.

I think this is easily a better song. When it kicks in it's glorious.
That's a great "deep track" for sure, one of their best. I love their doc about making that album, and it's featured around 41:20 here:
Toes Across the Floor probably gets my vote for favorite (but obviously overshadowed) Blind Melon song:

I do love me some Skateaway and Industrial disease over the big hits (except Brothers in Arms).
I occasionally hear Skateaway on classic rock radio, never Industrial disease.

my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE TMBG song. i'm not sure it even made it on the radio

I think I might like them all equally, but Don't Let's Start will always be the sentimental favorite. I played it when I got the job at Murphy's and so many people would walk up to ask me about the band.

I love Stairway to Heaven but I think What is and What Should Never Be is probably my favorite
And even on the 4th album I favor The Battle of Evermore

Nazareth's album Hair of the Dog produced two hits, the title track was huge and Love Hurts was even bigger, a massive hit you might say. But my favorite song on the album is Please Don't Judas Me.

Al Stewart - Year Of The Cat.
Not near as good as Roads To Moscow or Nostradamus.

Pretty much any Blind Melon song off either album, but you did pick a great one.

No doubt one of my favorite bands of all time! Shannon Hoon was a hell of an entertainer & incredibly gifted. Heroin sux!

I bet I am one of very few people whose favorite Queen song wasn't even sung by Freddy.
'39, sung by Brian May
Freddy did sing it in live shows every so often.

Ah Ha - Take Me On

you think that song was overshadowed by another aha song? the point of the thread is to post the song you liked better by a band with a massive hit.
