I'm not sure how they even pull a crowd with these lineups anymore. I can't imagine standing all day in the heat for those headliners.

Looks like all the country singers are fat so it's hard to know who he is referring to.

Who determines what your level is on the poster?

I see some discrepancies.

I would think that is negotiated by management of the festival and the bands.

There is a reason why I usually start at the bottom on festival lineups. That's usually where the best bands show up.

They managed to get the two most overrated bands of the 90s as the headliners

The 40/50 something backwards hats are gonna be a thing

Like the last few years, very top-heavy. A third of the entire budget had to be spent on the top 6 acts.

I liked setting up at 11am at Gentilly the year it was
Revivalists > NO Bingo Show(little weird) > Mutemath > Phoenix > Galactic…a (mostly) solid 7 hours of music staying put

Now they’re not even trying for that 2nd or 3rd tier, just bring back the same acts who come every year. Jazz Fest is getting passed by the Bourbon & Beyond type festivals, and this lineup looks especially like they don’t particularly care.

I’ll be at Mile 0 Fest in Key West next week and that looks much more worthwhile than this JF lineup

Morris Day & the motherfrickin' Time. A weak lineup. I wouldn't mind seeing Pearl Jam but I'm pretty indifferent to most of that.

Played at Gretna Fest last year for $30…I’d be dancing to Jungle Love too but not for $90 plus fees

B&B is 4 days, 300 bucks for the pass. JF is 8 days, 350 bucks for each 4 day pass. so jazzfest is basically two B&B festivals back to back. i dont believe jazzfest is getting "passed" on by attendees going to B&B in lieu of JF, and theres certainly not an artist overlap as far as dates are concerned

so what do you mean by "passed"? coolness factor?

Lineup-wise, B&B is top notch, with something for everyone - we went last year. But I find the overall Jazz Fest experience better, more laid back, and user-friendly.

B&B rules are similar to a stadium show, but it goes for 10+ hours. Limited size clear bag policy, strictly limited areas for towels (to sit on the ground) and chairs, almost no shade, no grass near the main stages (gravel and asphalt mostly), and very pricey drinks and food ($20 for most single bourbon drinks). We missed out on buying one of the limited number of passes allowing you to bring a chair, though there was tons more space in the designated chair area about 50 yards from the stages (chair passes were selling online for over $100 for the Zach Bryan day). Patrons gobble up the limited tables and chairs in common areas and camp out for the day. And that was in the "VIP" area.

We enjoyed it but won't do B&B again soon. Music was great, but many of the early acts only got 30 minute sets (Lyle Lovett, Neal Francis are only getting warmed up after 30 minutes). The schedules changed at random on the weekend, and we missed some sets completely when they moved some shows up to avoid conflicts later in the day. Crowd chatter at the back of the secondary stages made it hard to hear the music.

Jazz Fest isn't perfect but we always have a good time at secondary stages and hear great music from bands I've never heard of, while being able to chill.

I was at that stage that day. You nailed my routine. I pick one day according to lineup and set up shop at Gentilly at 11:00 and watch all day with walkabouts for food to break up the day. Very rarely will we do the same for main stage. Gary Clark Jr before Tedeschi Trucks was the epic exception recently
