I mean, he had money but I don't think he was "rich." I know some people whose parents died when they were very young and their parents left them hundreds of thousands of dollars if not a couple of million. They certainly aren't rich. Their money went into their schooling, money for their upbringing, all sorts of stuff. And they are perfectly middle class people now.
To go along with bro and something I said earlier, Harry was most certainly wealthy. The potter's are a old money family. Harry's grandfather stacked paper on top of their wealth. James and Lilly were presumably against Voldemort because he challenged their position in the ruling elite

Henry’s son was called Fleamont Potter. Fleamont was so called because it was the dying wish of Henry’s mother that he perpetuate her maiden name, which would otherwise die out. He bore the burden remarkably well; indeed, he always attributed his dexterity at duelling to the number of times he had to fight people at Hogwarts after they had made fun of his name. It was Fleamont who took the family gold and quadrupled it, by creating magical Sleekeazy’s Hair Potion ( ‘two drops tames even the most bothersome barnet’ ). He sold the company at a vast profit when he retired, but no amount of riches could compensate him or his wife Euphemia for their childlessness. They had quite given up hope of a son or daughter when, to their shock and surprise, Euphemia found that she was pregnant and their beloved boy, James, was born.

I bet that's popular at Walmart, Dollar General, and Family Dollar.

If Malfoy wasn't such a douche in the beginning, he could have manipulated Harry into Slytherin and then tee'd up Voldemort for the easy kill.
Basically all the drama Voldemort went through with harry throughout the books is Malfoy's fault. Hubris little prick.

damn harry could have been fricking the hottest dudes, wearing the flyest clothes and hanging out at the hippest pubs. He fricked up his once in a lifetime opportunity at hogwarts. Dude settles for a ginger wife, ginger best friend who is poor instead of going with malfoy and owning the world. DUDE BREAKS THE ELDER WAND LIKE A BITCH. Hufflepuff was garbage. When you think of the other houses you immediately think of bravery or brains or cunning. Hufflepuff just makes you laugh and think they are the leftovers. My kids are on a HP kick right now and I've noticed how little that house is mentioned. Harry was a good dude who stood by true friends. Draco was a snake who treated his friends like crap, had a weak father and didn't age well at all. He looked sickly in that flash forward, like an old alcoholic.

In the books there's a lot of times when harry helps Ron and his family out with money. It becomes a major point of contention between the two

Harry is the one that funded the Weasley twins' joke shop when they quit Hogwarts.

Harry needs some smart money people on his side or he will go broke. That is a classic "made it out of the hood"investment. Got to cut some people off the playroll.

maybe Fred would still be alive and George would still have an ear if they finished school. Harry basically enabled them and they didn't get a degree. Harry killed Fred.

He bought Ron stuff all the time and gave the Weasley twins the money to start their joke shop

But that money wasn't from his family stash. It was his "prize" money for tying with Cedric in the Triwizard Tournament and then being the winner of a not dying in the cemetery contest. Pretty sure that money made him feel guilty.
On topic: I would imagine Hufflepuffs had lots of friends and took up for anyone that was picked on. I believe all the Hufflepuffs that were old enough to stay for the Battle of Hogwarts stayed to fight. Probably a few badasses amongst their numbers.
Also, in sure they had some freaky broads in that house too. As a whole they were loyal, dedicated, and hard working...

Fat girls do tend to try harder in the bedroom and will pretty much let you do anything you want to them.
