I'm gonna come up with a weekly Harry Potter thread to discuss different views of important events in the wizarding world. Next week: was Harry Potter secretly gay. Stay tuned.

I would say Gryffindor were the cool kids / jocks. Not necessarily rich, but they swung the big dicks/vaginas at Hogwarts.
Also, Hufflepuff were just the nerds. Essentially filled with mathaletes and band dorks.

ETA: Yes I would imagine Hufflepuffs were bullied a lot. Cedric was their only redeeming trait.

Ravenclaw is the nerds that would go into international banking and finance
Hufflepuff is where the Marxist are at. Cedric was like that cool kid that went to the liberal arts college for some reason

I would say Hufflepuffs were more the Boy Scouts of Hogwarts. Hard workers and dedicated to whatever they liked, loyal to a fault and "good" people. So, perhaps a bit nerdy/geeky, but with many redeeming qualities and skills.
There is a lot of Hufflepuff hate in this thread. Haha.
