It was stupid. Killing off Colby served no purpose other than to use it as filler to burn through screen time. Plot wise, story of the series it has zero reason to happen
B/c Taylor Sheridan must keep reminding us how hard it is to be a cowboy.

was wondering. do all of the branded folks get taken to the train station?
that's on my list of things I don't understand from this episode.
- Why are they putting Colby's body in the truck and not calling a coroner?
- What does “The best lies are 90% true, and I’m the best frickin’ liar.” mean?
- How the hell is Grant's organization good enough to get 3 assassins in the governor's mansion to kill him, but botches the job and Kacey finds him in a matter of days by making a few phone calls?
- Why are they selling everything to pay Uncle Sam immediately? Death/Estate taxes aren't due before the body is in the ground. You have time.
- How can Taylor Sheridan's character and Jimmy not know that John Dutton is dead? I get that he doesn't watch tv, but it isn't like people don't text.

Anybody else thinking Kasey's buddy, Cade, is one of the assassins?
been worried about this since that dude was introduced to the show

Didn't Cade tell him you won't get the killers but you can get the guy in charge......or something like that

I’m still wondering what purpose the whole Summer storyline had.
I think these things are just TS way of showing us that sometimes in life, shite just happens for no reason.

Is that a new thing? I don't remember her having what appears to be a small cleft lip. It sticks to her damn front teeth. My wife pointed it out a few episodes back and I can't stop staring just waiting for the lip to straighten out.
It is pretty distracting. It's like she got lip injections that didn't take in the middle. Very odd

My wife has a theory that Jamie is gonna kill Beth, then Rip is going to kill him and go to prison. Kayce gets the ranch.
This, plus when the involvement of Market Equities in the Dutton assassination becomes public, the state will stop all participation, and the ranch will be safe.
I still wonder if the Indians don't play a role somewhere in this. I keep thinking back to the interaction in 1883 between Dutton and the Indian chief.

I mean, the one Indian guy helped Casey threaten the guy and his daughter, so they kind of are already involved with a list of felonies from that one instance alone.

Glad to see them give Kayce his gonads back for while.
For all the talk we hear about 2nd season of “1923” (my favorite of all the series in the Duttonverse) and “1944”, I’d tune in to a “2013” prequel focusing on Kayce’s time with the teams.

a cowboys life is suffering....

i really thought we'd get one with the younger version of John Dutton with his wife and when the kids were little.

I figured he was referring to the Grant guy

There's been so many things in this show that just disappear but I think they put her on the plane to wherever because of Costner and having to kill John.
They didn't have anywhere to go with her just being around without John so abracadabra you weren't ever actually on house arrest and you can go anywhere you want!

I think an unlazy writer who was less concerned with spinning and sliding horses could have used her hippie self to help save the ranch from the big, bad developers.
But... that would require to much effort.

My takeaway was that Summer will decide she truly wants to be part of the solution going forward and comes back to Dutton Ranch in the last few episodes.
The same goes for showing Jimmy in episode 9.... John forgave Jimmy's debt in one of the past seasons and allowed him to go to Texas to chase his dreams, while wearing the Yellowstone brand on his chest.
Guess we will see how it all plays out.....
I really hope not. I don't give 3 shits about either one of those characters. They have been useless to what should be the actual plot all along.

They sent his belongings back to his mom, so there’s no way they just dispose the body. I would assume she wants him back home if she knows he died.

If Jamie ends up killing Beth, this season will be worth it

I thought it was understood that the plane she got on was the one Kayce planted the bomb on like 3 seasons ago that still hasn’t blown up.
