Outside of internet bubbles, The Last Jedi is considered an enjoyable star wars movie

What’s your proof of this? Anecdotal? Because on my end everyone I know thinks the Disney trilogy is a failure. Really the only movie of the three most people would agree is decent is the first one

Outside of this website, Interstellar is somewhat divisive.
How in the world are you going to say Interstellar was divisive but say TLJ wasn’t?

There are times I think people dislike you no matter what you say however in times like this you deserve it. You are clearly trying hard to be a contrarian here

there are so many examples of this. it's obvious that modern critics are entirely detached from the actual quality of the movie and are instead reporting pretty much solely on The Message.

True

Although at the base level it is a financial decision. By supporting the industry they report on they get access.

This is 100% accurate. For a recent example, go look at the reviews for Mercy with Chris Pratt. Nearly every negative review is about the "dangerous" message that is pro-AI and "cop-o-ganda".

It got 23% from critics, but 82% from audiences, and was the highest grossing movie of its opening weekend by $4.5 million dollars.

I never understood why Rotten Tomatoes got so popular. The ratings suck and even the website layout itself sucks. Imdb is pretty consistent with whether or not I'll like something

to be fair is 99% if critic give a move a like 3/5 that’s 99% fresh

doesn’t mean it’s a better reviews move that 70% of critics give 5/5 starts to and 10-% give 2/5

i think that’s how it works

Which is why RT is and has always been stupid. To this day I do not understand why we even give this nonsense any attention.

yeah it’s wild that’s a movie that can get a universal 65% would be 100% fresh.

If you know what it is though I thjnk it’s a solid indicator of whether a movie is at least watchable.

The results usually aren’t crazy. When audience and critics are both at 90+ it’s usually a pretty good movie

oh, that's interesting. not surprising though, dude was kind of a hack. he somehow caught lightning in a bottle with Lonesome Dove, but the rest of his books are pretty meh.

For my money, MacGruber is one of the best comedies of the last 20 years.

But man, is it polarizing

People either love it or hate it
