How many seasons did they make of Spartacus? I only watched the first two, is it worth finishing?

39 episodes total
Season 1 - Blood and Sand: 13 episodes
Season 1.5 - Gods of the Arena (prequel): 6 episodes
Season 2 - Vengeance: 10 episodes
Season 3 - War of the Damned: 10 episodes

yes, worth finishing. I enjoyed it very much.

Only a closet homosexual would be afraid of seeing a little dick on a show, especially with the plethora of quality tits this show gives you.

All of those cultures are wayyyyy to different to pull off in a show for the general audiences except for maybe the Huns which have been done before. And the 3 Kingdoms Period in China would be awesome, but with the others mentioned, probably impossible.

I disagree. I think a show about Mongols going around kicking arse could be awesome.

Persia vs Greece from the Persian purspective could be very interesting.

India would be a real challenge, but a cool series could be made about the Sepoy rebellion and English colonial period.

An Aztec series would be bad arse, all leading up to the conquistadors arriving with a season-lock arc of conquest. They could then lead in to other conquistador stories like Pizarro in Peru.

As for the Huns, I'd like to see a series about all of the Germanic tribes displaced by the Huns, and the lone Roman Legion charged with holding them from crossing the Rhine. I'd love to see a mini-series made that roughly follows the novel about it "Eagle in the Snow".

Some other cool ones would be Romans vs Celts along Hadrian's Wall, A series about the Isrealite conquest of Canaan and proceeding war with the Philistines, a mini series on the Great Jewish Revolt against Roman rule, the Crusades would be fascinating, Alexander the Great, just a few ideas.

I'll get slaughtered and I admittedly enjoyed Spartacus, but the dialogue is laughable.

Yeah how bad is it in this show? I love historical based shows I'm currently watching The Pillars of Earth and I've always wanted to check out Spartacus but all the talk of full frontal male nudity has always made me put off watching it in favor of something else.

I'm liking GOT more. I love Spartacus but there no weak season in GOT as Spartacus has in season 2.

In 6 or 7 years, I'm sure they're reboot GoT.

Rome was cancelled due to costs - not because HBO was unhappy with the quality or even the ratings.

Many of the lessons learned in Rome allowed GoT to thrive.

Spartacus is probably my favorite series to date, edging out GOT. The dialogue was epic.

If we werent so into the shite with Islam, i'd love to see someone do a show about the Templar Knights and the crusades, ending with Black Friday.

There could be a mini-series about the end of the Templars, for sure. The scope of the whole thing would be too much for a regular series, anyway.

You got parts of the crusade story in Kingdom of Heaven - underrated, IMHO

Spartacus was fantastic TV to watch. Everything worked perfectly. It did a hell of a job making you love or hate the characters. I was emotionally connected to Spartacus and Crixus and it pretty much devastated me to see him die. I fricking hated Ashur so much I literally masturbatec crixus's girl chopped his head off.,

I also love the dialogue of this show and I'm just not about the apt and well timed cussing, I'm talking about the broken English and Latin mixed together. An example is as follows....

quote:

Spartacus: you move well, as if lash had never struck.

Crixus: Pain is erased when inflicted upon others

Spartacus: I would have you at your very peak when we take the sand against one another.

Crixus: Is that all you'd have of me? Rhaskos speaks of your desires. What fever unfortunately grips brain, that Spartacus would think me to band with him. To risk the lives of my men, my life.

Spartacus:mIs there one, without the woman you love within it?

Crixus: I've never had a stronger reason to live.

Spartacus: I know your heart Cruxus, I felt the beating of it within my chest a lifetime ago.

Crixus: Then you know I'll fricking survive and see naevia returned to me.

Spartacus: as my wife was returned. Batiatus ordered her untimely demise.

Blasphemy.

You damn well know it's pure ignorance to think back in those ancient times, they spoke perfect English like we do in present day.

The dialogue fitted perfectly with the setting. The show suffered a lot from the main actor dying but Gannicus was one of my favorite characters of any show ever
