Will we ever get another show like Spartacus?

It was an awesome show with great characters, badass action, hot women. and even some good themes and ideas. Dialogue , scenery, sets, and acting was excellent. They could do more stories about Rome like Hannibal, Nero, Caesar, or Gaul.
Then there are other cultures they could do like the Huns, Mongols, Ancient China, India, Persia, or the Aztecs.

I laughed when I saw Spartacus on SyFy the other day

Why, I like it as I do Game of thrones or Rome.

It was heavily censored on SyFy

I would love a similar show. There're countless stories that could be done. The Crusader states would be a cool setting.

Spartacus might be my favorite series ever. Maybe a little above Game Of Thrones and Hell on Wheels is 3rd. Breaking Bad is up there too along with Walking Dead.
I think Hell On Wheels is severely underrated. I'm just wanting Cullen Bohannon to be the badass he was like season one.
But Spartacus was a show that caught me completely off guard about how much I loved it. I was fricking devastated when Andy Whitfield died in real life after the first season. Almost ruined the whole series. But Gannicus saved the series in my eyes with the 2nd season. One of my favorite characters ever.
Whitfield was perfect as Spartacus even though in the first episode I didn't care for him. I bought the whole series and still watch it.
Some want a spinoff about Ceasar but I hated his character and wouldn't be excited about it if the same guy is cast as Ceasar.

I forgot about Black Sails also. I still have really high hopes for it even though some didn't like it the first season. It has the potential to be special if they don't frick it up.

I just wish it was more seasons dedicated while they were gladiators.

All of those cultures are wayyyyy to different to pull off in a show for the general audiences except for maybe the Huns which have been done before. And the 3 Kingdoms Period in China would be awesome, but with the others mentioned, probably impossible.

I would like to see a Red Dawn type show. Something like Russia and a few other powers allying with South American countries to invade and take control of the US.

Well i think white people in general are starting to learn more about other cultures, Egypt or the African kingdoms would be cool too

I remember my friend asking me if I had seen Spartacus yet and I asked, "the movie?" He says Starz has this awesome violent, action packed, near porno series with hot chicks and so I gave it a watch
I was completely hooked. It sucked that Andy died just a few months later, but thankfully Gannicus was a badass. I need to give this show a re watch

We're open to modern cultures, and cultures we're experienced with like the modern greeks and romans. I don't know how people would appreciate some of these extremely alien older cultures. It'd be foreign to their ancestors today who are well ingrained with the ideas. I don't think that today's audiences would understand the complete mortification of blood that the mongols had and the extremes they would go to to keep from being exposed to spilt blood, or the sheer bureaucracy of ancient china or relate to the socio-political complications of India. I'd be all for these if they're done right, but I don't seem them being successful. There are some movies that do a good to great job at showing some of these ancient to classical to middle age cultures and they've at times ranged to be up to pretty good movies. That didn't make money.

There is no better scene in TV history than Spartacus and Crixus vs Theokoles. This shite is SICK!!!!!

Yeah, and I think Kingdom of Heaven showed how it could be done. With all the Templars fascination, there probably would be a built in audience. Unfortunately, I think current world affairs might scare any network away from the Crusader topic for a while.

How many seasons did they make of Spartacus? I only watched the first two, is it worth finishing?
