Everyone gives him shite. If I were in his shoes I would probably burn $100 bills on the beach campfire and laugh at the nerds.

Having said that, it might piss me off that the TV folks rushed my ending. Where do the books go from here. I have a strange feeling he's finishing the whole thing before he releases the next one.

I could be wrong, but I think the delay is because the wants to kick the show's arse.

Discuss.

I hope so, but I doubt it.

Knowing him, he’s probably writing something else at the moment.

The last 2 seasons were such steaming piles of shite that it makes it difficult to be even interested in anything a song of ice and fire.

I think the general consensus is he's never going to finish the books before he dies.

In like a Lion, out like a Lamb.

Makes Lost's ending seem "well done" -

I can't believe it's going to be 9 years since Dance come July.

A bunch of Wild Cards stuff edited and the pretty much abandoned Hedge Knight stuff.

I should consider myself fortunate that I started reading the books right before Dance was published. There are many much worse off than me

The show killed the fandom. I know lifelong book readers that couldn't care less if GRRM publishes another book.

He missed his opportunity to strike while the iron was hot.

Screw that lazy fat bastard.

If he had finished his books we would have never been subjected to Benioff and Weiss’ steaming pile of shite Season 8. Just awful

I hated the ending too but i'm still going to buy the book the day it comes out, if it ever does, and finish it in 2-3 days.

I started reading in the late 90s and I have long ago ceased caring about this series. There are plenty of better Fantasy series out there. I would probably read the next book at some point but the last couple haven't exactly been great or even very good books.

It doesn’t matter. Season 7&8 got so far away from the books that regardless of what he writes, it will not affect how you look at the tv series now.

I don’t believe he ever had an ending, I think he was just making it up as he went along.

When HBO picked up the show I’m pretty sure he had no idea it would become a worldwide phenomenon.

well this just shows that you have no talent. People that create things for entertainment want people to like it.

I think The stuff people like about George RR Martin as a writer spent necissary lead to a satisfying ending

Great world builder
Great character developer
Great at incorporating realism

But he never really seems to know where he is going.

If he finished the series I would expect him to put out 2 enormous books that take about 4 books worth of pages to get where GOT was supposed to get in like 2 seasons.
