Why did Talladega Nights fall off the comedy radar?

I feel like the 2000s is regarded as one of the peaks of comedy, especially the tandem of Adam McKay and Judd Appatow produced/directed movies. Of course you also had Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, etc…
There’s a lot of comedies from that era that people still talk about and of course rewatch. I feel like Talladega Nights totally fell off the map after being pretty beloved in the moment. Amazingly I think it’s only PG13 but I still feel it’s just as funny as many of the R rated comedies that came out at the same time.
I loved this movie when it came out and it still gives me plenty of belly laughs today. Do others feel the same or am I viewing it with nostalgia glasses and it got forgotten for a reason? Just curious why it never pops up when 2000s comedies are discussed. I think it’s close to Will Ferrell’s apex.
ETA: forgot to add of course it introduced us to John C Reilly as a comedic actor and set the stage for his relationship with will Ferrell to really take off in Step Brothers.

Who says it has?
I think Step Brothers kind if pushed it out as the best Ferrell/Reilly combo, but it's still hilarious.

Haven’t heard anyone trash it. I just mean I feel I rarely hear it brought up along other 2000s comedies.

Peak Ferrell was before Talladega. I do like it though.

I loved it when I was younger. I rewatched it and it just doesn’t do it for me anymore. Same thing with Pineapple Express

"Much that once was is lost,
For none now live who remember it.”
..
OK, it's not that old, but c'mon.

Get an additional hobby. You gave too much free thinking time

Liked talladega nights and I’m not a race car driver
However I didn’t care for Pineapple Express at all. Watched it once and I guess since I’m not into weed/stoner culture this just does not resonate to me at all

I too saw Pineapple Express later in its life and didn’t care for it near as much as a lot of people I knew.

Step Brothers might now overshadow it as previously mentioned....also NASCAR isn't as remotely popular now compared to when the movie came out.
But lets not act like its become Blades of Glory....who the frick still watches that?

Talladega nights has hilarious one liners, but is kind of all over the place with the "plot".

I would have named them Dr. Quinn and Medicine Woman

As someone who didn't watch nascar, I loved that movie
Now that I'm a big nascar fan, that movie is even better
they also reference it pretty often during races still today

Semi pro is a gem. Movie feels funnier watching now than it did when it came out.
Even tho Ferrell is not in it, Dewey Cox is the funniest of that era imo flawless comedy movie
I disagree with the OPs premise, this movies have if anything a bigger footprint than most of the other Will Ferrell movies from that era. It’s one of his most meme-able movies and was a cable special from the time it was out of theaters up until people stopped watching TV that way in the last few years. I doubt it’s hard to stream now either. People love to quote that movie.
I remember there being some heat on this movie pre release because they promoted the hell out of it, espn especially. But it’s always been in that Ferrell echelon with step brothers, old school, Ron burgundy etc from what I’ve seen, albeit at the lower end of that.

However I didn’t care for Pineapple Express at all.
