Elf is peak Ferrell

But the table scene praying to baby Jesus will always be freaking funny.

Talladega Nights definitely still holds up and is one of the great 00’s comedies.
Step Brothers definitely overshadows it though for most.
Blades of glory is hilarious as well but it’s definitely one of the lower thought of Ferrell comedies of that time period.

It's SemiPro that aged like milk

I have to disagree here. Semi Pro is phenomenal. It's all of the subtle humor throughout that makes it great. The supporting cast all have great moments.

It's really an avant-garde gem.

Haven’t heard anyone trash it. I just mean I feel I rarely hear it brought up along other 2000s comedies.

Pretty sure I hear it quoted at least once a week between work and the gym.

Amazingly I think it’s only PG13 but I still feel it’s just as funny as many of the R rated comedies that came out at the same time.

Why would an R rating increase the comedy value?

But to answer your question the movie suffers from overexposure. For a while I would see it on ALL THE TIME when flipping through channels. I think people got tired of it. It is still a comedy great.
