It’s not well known but it’s a docudrama that re-enacts a lot of the well known experiments that the Japanese conducted on the Chinese and others prior to and during World War II.
Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and skip this one. frick that.

The Strangers - "because you were home"
Nocturnal Animals
The Invitation
Requiem is unsettling but I could watch it again, same for Exorcist/Omen. Mothman was a pretty good mention earlier, that one made me dread 3am haha.

The Exorcist, and The Omen, both caused me to be afraid to go to sleep. Horror movies that feature priests and The Bible always bother me, especially parts when the priests lose to the satanic forces.
I saw The Exorcist when I was 14, and was 17 for The Omen. I wasn't ready for either
I'm 33 and you could not pay me to watch The Exorcist. Screw that I ain't that curious to see how creepy it is.

The episode of The Pacific where Rami Maleka character is throwing rocks into the japs opened skull and its sloshing around. Also Hereditary.

Hmmm. Let me think on that one.
Antichrist was pretty messed up.
Honestly, Passion of the Christ left me feeling pretty drained after watching it. Take the religion aspect away and you’re still left with a fairly horrifically brutal snuff film.
As far as creating a disturbing, deeply unsettling atmosphere, no other full-length movie I’ve seen comes close to Eraserhead. It’s like watching someone else’s bad dream. In Absentia approaches it, but it’s only a few minutes long.

If you want a great TCM rip off, a French movie called Frontiers is far superior to House of 1000 Corpses or any of Zombie's garbage movies.

Because the Human Centipede is nothing but torture porn. It's gross, not psychologically terrifying.

Gummo - most of Harmony Korine’s films are messed up
Ricky Oh: The Story Of Ricky - super low budget Chinese made film. Its so low budget the props give me the creeps.
