Yeah the Jim and Pam stuff in season 9 was really bad and also the episodes where Andy is having a breakdown were also bad too but I like Dwight's season 9 arc.
I feel like they shouod have had Dwight be boss for all or most of season 8 (if he had not fired the gun in the finale of season 7).
My favorite part of season 8 is when half of them go to Tallahassee. I felt like that 4-5 episode run was really solid.
There's no doubt it became a different show for the worse when Michael left but seasons 6 and 7 had a few really bad episodes even when Michael was still there like when Michael, Andy, and Oscsr go to Canada or some shite.
By seasons 6 and 7 they were running out of ideas even for Michael. But I was happy for the other actors that the show went on and I do enjoy the last two seasons but they have less laugh out loud moments and are kind of random from episode to episode. And I still really enjoy seasons 6 and 7 but at times the will-they won't-they with Holly got really annoying.

I really liked the final few episodes of The Office's final season. The way they closed it out made you feel like you knew these people.
The one thing I didn't love as the series drew to a close was what they did with Jim and Pam. It really made Pam frustrating to watch. But I thought the series came to a close nicely and it was a great ending for each character. Stanley - divorced, retired, and living in isolation (and loving it), Dwight ending up as manager and marrying Angela, Creed going to jail, Kevin getting fired and running a bar.. Ryan and Kelly making a terrible decision and running away together. As a longtime fan, I was so pleased with the ending. And as others have mentioned, seasons 2-5 are pure gold.

I completely meant to say Michael was possibly best tv character of all time.

I like Parks and Rec more than The Office.

P&R was just a really happy optimistic show, kind of tough to put it into words.

The Office was just funnier than Parks and Rec. Wins pretty easily, IMO.

Please. There is no way you can enjoy Parks and not also enjoy The Office. Spare us the bullshite.
As others have said, The Office at its peaks was one of the best of all time. Parks was more solid from start to finish.

The Office by miles.
Loved both, but this isn't close.

I like some of the characters in Parks and Rec (Andy, Ron, April...) better than the Office, but the Office was better all around in it's heyday.

I think from start to finish of the series, Parks & Rec is better, but none of their seasons are as strong as the first 3 seasons of The Office. The Office lost its magic in Season 4, and it went downhill after that, IMO.

I really hated how they ruined The Nard Dog towards the end. That was probably my biggest complaint about The Office.
S3-5 Nard Dog was awesome.

It's always amusing to me the hyperbole that people attach to things like this.
Yeah, it actually is close if you couldn't tell by all the responses. Neither one of these shows is miles ahead of the other.

The office might have bigger laughs from time to time but I definitely care more about the folks in Pawnee.
Still waiting for New Orleans to open a Paunch Burger.

Things like this normally break down along age lines. Would be interesting to see how it holds here. The older posters probably prefer the Office, and the younger posters probably like Parks and Recreation.
As one of the older posters, I don't think it's close. The Office is much better. Michael Scott the character is one of the best sitcom characters ever, far better than any single character on Parks and Rec.

Not sure I agree. Don't get me wrong, I get that a lot of people love Parks and Rec, and some would put it over The Office. That said, if you're not particularly interested in lovable characters and feel good stories, and all you're really looking for is something to make you laugh, I can definitely see why some people would say the shows aren't close (and no, I'm not trying to say that Parks and Rec isn't funny).

I was watching the episode where Jim and Karen interview for the corporate position. I never caught when Jim is interviewing and he starts to read the note left by Pam, that David Wallace can be heard complaining about the only guy at corporate Jim would hate--the HR guy. Hahahah
David Wallace was a great CEO.
The Office.

Karen was such a bitch in that episode. But that's still one of my favorites because doesn't Dwight paint what he thinks is Michael's old office black and takes on Andy as his #2.
