Where does Die Hard fit into the rankings of best trilogy?

I pretend LFDH and GD2DH don't exist.
Where does Die Hard trilogy rank on the list of greatest trilogies?
It's not number 1 but it's never mentioned on the best list. Die Hard has argument for best action movie ever and is one of the best movies ever. DHV has aged like fine wine, just an awesome sequel. Die Hard 2 really seems to hurt it in peoples rankings
This list is from 2016 but nothing has changed for other trilogies becoming best ever. Just adding more bullshite movies to existing series.
It's better than The Matrix and Iron Man

The recent planet of the Apes trilogy is better than a lot of those

Because it doesn't really feel like a trilogy at all.

It's pretty good, but the second movie is the weak link.
I think you'd have to categorize them by:
All 3 movies are good or great (LOTR, Toy Story, Indiana Jones, Star Wars)
2 out of 3 are good or great (Godfather, Dark Knight, Spider-Man)
Etc...
As amazing as the first two Godfather movies are, the third one would (at least for me) knock it below Indiana Jones and Back to the Future. I can enjoy watching all 3 of those movies, but I have zero interest in ever watching the third Godfather movie again.

I love Indiana Jones but the 2nd one was not good. It’s not Godfather 3 bad but I’d put it with Die hard 2.

It's so misunderstood.
It succeeds immensely at what it tried to be....a throwback to 50s Serials.
Its camp, its harrowing, its ridiculous, its gore, its humor and its quite fun.

Temple of Dumb is an absolutely terrible movie.

If a criterion is that you can't have a bad movie in the group, Godfather (III), Star Wars (ROTJ), and The Matrix (II and III really) would all be eliminated. Needs to add Dirty Harry, Austin Powers, Dollars Trilogy. I would have LOTR 1 and Dollars as 2. I wasn't a fan of the second and third Die Hards just like i wasn't a fan of the second and third Takens (why do people keep taking things from this man?????). Three Colors was brilliant and Kieslowski was a genius.

Are we just picking our three favorite movies in a series and calling it a trilogy? Can I call Friday the 13th a trilogy if I pretend the ones I don't like don't exist?

Yea. If not, take Star Wars and LOTR off the list. Most of the ones I mentioned were intended to be trilogies that later had movies tacked on to the franchise for money.
