I needed subtitles to understand Jeff Bridges
That was my biggest gripe with the remake, well that and the fact it really didn't need to be remade in the first place.
Bridges mumbling his lines in that hard twang of an accent was horrendous to try to listen to and it's unbelievable the director or any other member of making that movie didn't see that coming.

Big fan of Open Range.
Lonesome Dove is timeless (and an amazing book to draw inspiration from).
I recent did a rewatch of Godless (great modern western) and I’d love to see Lonesome Dove remade in a way that gives the landscape center stage like Godless does, but I can’t imagine recasting.

Love all the ones mentioned. Also love The assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
One that I loved but haven’t seen in a long time is The Grey Fox. The cinematography is awesome.

That may very well be my favorite quote from any Clint Eastwood movie.
There will never be an icon like Clint Eastwood in my lifetime for me.
I'm a big John Wayne fan as well, but Eastwood just added a certain cool to anything he did.

The correct answer is Lonesome Dove followed by the real True Grit. They have an important piece in common.

This is my personal favorite. The score and cinematography are amazing. It’s the most criminally underrated movie in history.
Unforgiven is my second favorite.

"The Big Country" is a highly under-appreciated Western. Gregory Peck, Charlton Heaton, Chuck Conners, Burl Ives and Carol Baker are outstanding in this film!

Once Upon a Time in the West.
Last Man Standing is underrated.

The Cowboys - John Wayne. When I was a kid that movie was awesome. Dreamed of being a cowboy with John Wayne.
