The Big Lebowski

Finally

Ugh..its not even ironic funny.

Its a good movie but...c'mon, it's not even,Life Aquatic funny and that's say something for that sleepwalk droll.

Big Lebowski is about as funny as, after the fact can get...meaning it aint funny but an in joke to friends, your like minded inner-circle, guys you work with, dinner party guests who have a suit and, wear a tie ((Shawshank)..and people who fricking hate, the Eagles.

If I had to pick just one I would say Monty Python and the Holy Grail but there are probably fifteen to twenty that are all timers.

Holy Grail
A Shot in the Dark (deeply disappointed no one has mentioned this one, the best of the Pink Panther films)
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World
The Life of Brian
Airplane
This is Spinal Tap
Blazing Saddles
Young Frankenstein
A Fish Called Wanda (only movie I know where someone watching it actually laughed themselves to death)
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
The Naked Gun
Caddyshack
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Dr. Strangelove
The Blues Brothers

So many funny movies. One thing Hollywood usually gets right. They can make people laugh — intentionally or not.

So many great movies mentioned above. But Major League made me laugh out in the theatre.

Here are some older, unmentioned comedies that should be watched.

The Great Race
The Hallelujah Trail
Dirty Dingus McGee
The Goodbye Girl
What’s Up Doc
Love and Death
Bananas
They Call Me Trinity (and sequels)
Support Your Local Sheriff
Cat Ballou

And, if I missed it — Bad Santa.

The thing that impressed me so much about Airplane — and to an extent Blazing Saddles — is it is not only a haha funny movie but is such a clever satire. They used celebrity walk-ons like Kareem; used the Notre Dame fight song for the pep talk; a flash of juggling boobs at the right time; the Singing Nun; jive talking; the propeller engine sound on a jet liner; and, of course, the use of dramatic actors killing it in comedic roles. So much perfection.

4 pages and no Ghostbusters? Sorry if I missed it. Bill F*%#ing Murray at his absolute peak.

Glad to see Dewey Cox and My Cousin Vinny represented.

The hardest I have ever laughed was Team America in the theater. At multiple points I had to cover my ears, close my eyes, and say la la la la so I wouldn't suffocate from the inability to breath. I literally had abdominal cramps the next day from laughing, as if I had done 1000 sit-ups.

Male PA Announcer: The red zone has always been for loading.

Female PA Announcer: Don’t you tell me which zone is for loading and which zone is for unloading.

Male PA Announcer: Look, Betty, don’t start up with your white zone shite again. There’s just no stopping in a white zone.

Female PA Announcer: Oh really, Vernon? Why pretend, we both know perfectly well what this is about. You want me to have an abortion

Liar, Liar is one of the most funny movies ever made. That being said, I went and saw Naked Gun 2 1/2 when I was a kid at the theater and am still digging popcorn out of my sinus cavities. The lobster dinner with the Bushes was the funniest scene I’ve ever, well… seen, I think. When the lobster pinched Barbara’s titty I LOST IT!!!!
