I saw an early screening for LSU students of Knocked Up back in the early 2000's. When Katherine Heigl was delivering the baby and they did a quick cut to the baby's head crowning, the entire theater including myself freaked the hell out
Never forget the "OOOHHHHH!!!" when they showed that

The entire movie "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" when it was featured at midnight at the cinema in Gentilly back in 70's and garnered a cult following.
People would dress up like the characters and break out in song and dance during the entire movie.

I saw “Independence Day” opening day. The initial attack (White House, Empire State Building, and Tower Records blowing up) with the spreading blast, right at the end, when the dog jumps to safety at the last second, was the biggest reaction I’ve seen in a movie. A ton of clapping, cheering, etc. It wasn’t just for the dog, it was for the entire slow motion wave, spreading out across the cities.
Second this. Granted I was a kid but still. So much contagious energy. Will smith was still cool then and everyone was clapping and cheering when the good stuff happened.
Also, the collective audience OOOF when “John Lark” got taken out at the end of Fallout, plus the collective holding of breath to see if Ethan saved the day was an all timer.

"Bad Grandpa" when Grandpa blew it out with the Shart on the wall in the restaurant and also the scene when he went to the strip club and was hustling the black ladies. Everyone in that movie was laughing their a$$ off.
The other movie experience was a "A Quiet Place". I remember there was like no sound for like the first 15 mins of the movie and then someone decided to make a loud sound with a popcorn bucket and everyone jumped and then there was a few laughs.

When I was in L.A., Julia Louis Dreyfus literally jumped out of her seat when Malkovich shot the fisherman with his plastic gun in “Line of Fire”. I think the guy and his buddy were fishing. They admired the weird gun me mentioned it to Malk. Then bang!

"Hair gel" scene in something about marry was an outright riot in the theatre. One huge, collective uncontrollable belly laugh.

A guy standing up yelling, "NO!" during The Cowboys (1972).
The whole audience gasping when Charlton Heston and Nova round that curve on the beach and see what they see at the end.

The only time I’ve seen a whole movie theater stand up in a roaring applause was after Uncle fricker in South Park: Bigger Longer and Uncut. It was AWESOME!!

Took my date to go see Colors in Shreveport at St. Vincent Mall. Big mistake. Half of the movie was being playing out in the theater with the Bloods & Crips talking shite. We were too scared to stay, but even more scared to leave. Luckily, I was wearing an LSU shirt.
