A Simple Favor. It was a brilliant dark comedy for about 2/3 of the film and then it completely veers off the rails.

That's tough because a bad ending usually makes it a bad movie..

Here's a couple of thoughts:

Contact

The Dark Knight Rises

Passengers

I actually thought Jurassic Park 3 was a very good movie... Until the last 3rd of the movie. Fix that ending up and it would hold higher weight in the series.

The Blu-Ray version of Return of the Jedi. While no where near Empire or the original, it was still a good movie.

Then they ruined it by Force ghosting Hayden Christhecantact in there.

I'm sure this isn't a popular take, but the ending of Holy Grail has always bugged me. I love that they end up back at the French Castle, but bringing in the police and paddy wagon just seemed so out of left field, even for Python...

A lot of spoofs struggle with how to end the movie. See, Blazing Saddles

The classic example is Red River.

In the novel and original script, Wayne is fatally injured in the fight, but begs Clift to help him so he can die in Texas. Clift takes him back but Wayne dies on the banks of the Red River, just across from Texas. Clift takes him across the river into Texas and buries him there.

If that ending sounds familiar, it's b/c Larry McMurtry used a variation on it for Lonesome Dove.

I didn't like the ending of Signs

I'm sure plenty will disagree, but actual aliens felt like a cop out.

If a movie has a shitty ending, I don't consider it a good movie.
