I didn't really think much of the movie, but the book is certainly impactful, and I think would be so for any number of people.

I'm sure everything everyone mentions will be something that impacted me in some way, as a movie can do, but I'm drawn to the Curious Case of Benjamin Button for some reason. I guess life is fleeting? Enjoy a moment when you can? Not sure.

Requiem for a Dream, and to a lesser extent, Trainspotting.

DARE has nothing on those two.

Scorsese’s Silence is an absolutely brutal film about faith and persecution. Can’t even say I’d recommend it because it sticks with you.

Jojo Rabbit. Jojo and Elsa emerge onto the streets. Elsa realizes her freedom. "Heroes" by David Bowie slowly fades in. They begin to dance and then the screen goes black, followed by this quote:

I just sat in silence on the couch as the profoundness of that set over me.

I’m surely in the minority here but Vanilla Sky did. I’m not really sure why. I’ll never forget that one quote in the movie “every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around.”

Jaws - I did see it in 1975 and it marked an end to me going in the water.

Beau Travail, it really opened my mind to the language of cinema and how to tell a story visually, and what cinema could do as a medium.

I cannot say it was one particular movie - - but after a watching several movies that either directly deal with slavery or race relations or touch it - - you kinda start to realize that white people really suck sometimes and we got a lot of personal growth to do as a human beings.
