Judd Crawford (Slain police chief), served in the marines under Lieutenant Robert Mueller
Yes that Robert Mueller

I think my wife has one of those ..... makes sense now. Whenever she turns it on the lights dim and the dogs howl. Must be throwing out some high frequency sound of some sort.

According to those files, night owl made that device and gave it to Blake out of spite because he felt she still harbored feelings for Manhattan

Yeah, the files are all loaded with little nuggets like that. I'm really enjoying reading those after each episode.

Im curious to see how much of that is true.
Based on her interaction with the Governor , she clearly wants to get Nite Owl out of jail. Which would tell me she still loves him
I’m wondering if when they got busted, he told her to rat on him and separate herself from him to save herself from prison. So that interview might’ve been an act.
Just spitballin
Another popular reddit theory is that Agent Petey was Lubeman

The Watchmen universe has a different meaning for "BBC".

At the end she said knowing what really happened on 11/2. That's the day that Ozy dropped the squid on NY, right?

Yes I would assume so

That makes me wonder if the US government knows what actually happened but went along with it anyway to maintain the peace, and that's how Laurie was able to leverage herself into a job with the FBI rather than going to jail.

Btw asking the white cop to hold onto the klan uniform for safe keeping seems like a bad idea

I wouldnt care for that. The only part I havent really cared for is that the white supremacist use Rorsach masks. It kind of ruins the last part of the comic where his journal showed up in the newsroom. That made you think, o snap, all that he was doing wasnt useless, like his death had a purpose. One of the main reasons the end was a bit of a surprise was that it was that just Dr Manhattan knew of the plan and let it happen. The whole government knowing would kind of lessen his role.

Well you gotta think based on the way the public perceived things, the only paper that would run something like that, would be a crazy conspiracy paper like the New Frontiersmen.
And the government knows but didn’t know until after the fact. So it doesn’t really change Manhattens decision to let it happen.

Rorschach was a sociopath. He already wasn't liked by the general public. Most of his journal entries probably read like the rantings of a raving lunatic. Add in that the journal was published by a right wing propaganda tabloid and its not that hard to see how he could become some sort of icon for a fringe right wing terrorist group.
Dr. Manhattan didn't know until after the event happened. He only "let it happen" by realizing that the best solution was to not let anyone know the truth.
As far as the government goes, I'm not saying they knew before, but perhaps at some point in the aftermath figured out what really happened, and like Dr. Manhattan, realized the best thing to do was not the public know what really happened.

So I just watched the movie after already watching the first 3 episodes. I like this show even more now.

It's a great show (and even better score).
Don't let the racism crap (discussed ad-naseum here btw) turn you away. It definitely doesn't come off SJW-y at all to me. I usually stop watching stuff that's totally heavy handed.
This seems like just a plot-point, and something that could easily happen. I think it's done really well.
Glad to have Watchmen on TV.

Will admit after the first episode, I was like not this racism stuff again, but after watching the movie it gave me more context. I think it’s a situation of the journal being viewed as a manifesto and taken in the wrong context and sprawling from there.
