I liked her character. I thought the interactions between Finn and Poe were bad. They became best buds way too quick.

The rehashed story was what i hated the most.

Women, quite literally, represent half of the population. I think it'll be ok if we have a couple leads in a male lead dominated series as popular as Star Wars.

Now go make me a sammich.

Seriously?

Aayla Secura
Jocasta Nu
Ahsoka Tano
Shaak Ti

To name a few quickly off the top of my head.

And no one knows who the hell these people are. I'm somewhat familiar with Ahsoka, but that is it (and it was a missed opportunity that she wasn't in the prequels). On the big screen we really haven't seen it. Sure there were a few in the background, but they didn't get any lines.

You are aware that most Star Wars fans aren't gigantic nerds who can name every single obscure character, right?

I dont care what most Star Wars fans care about. You are what is wrong with Star Wars. I bet you were overjoyed JJ Abrams turned TFA into that abortion he called Star Trek (2009). Yay let's appease the masses and make Star Wars "fun". Star Wars isn't meant to be fun, it's meant to be a space opera that is dark and gritty.

How? Because I know a major studio would never, ever let glorified fan fiction control a multi-billion dollar empire?

I was never a Star Trek fan, so yeah I actually enjoyed that movie. I can actually understand Ace Midnight's position with it though, since it's clear JJ just turned Star Trek into Star Wars.

You're really wrong here. It's really just Empire and Sith that are dark, and given their subject matter it makes sense. Star Wars is supposed to be fun. Being fun and dark don't have to be mutually exclusive.

I have no problems with a woman lead and a black guy. I actually really liked Rey, Finn was kinda lame thou. I just think TFA is a mediocre film. I really hope Ep8 turns out great because I'm losing my love for Star Wars. JMHO.

I would have preferred if Finn didn't need to breathe so heavily for 2 hours.

Oh, and to the EU fans, I have to ask, isn't there a plotline where Palpatine is revived, Luke becomes his apprentice, and then Leia has to save Luke from the Emperor and convince him of his goodness? Sorry, but that's shite I used to do when I was 7 with my Legos. That's simply a shite plot and can't be defended.

Why the frick would DIsney ever look at this story and say "You know what, let's chain ourselves to it and ruin everything with the cast we have"? You people are fricking delusional if you think it would have been a good idea to use the EU.

The EU is filled with ridiculousness and it should be no surprise that Disney opted to scratch it from cannon.

Do we really want Chewy's speech impediment as cannon?

What about cloned Luke, Luuke?

And let's not even start about Mount Sorrow.

I sometimes feel bad as a comic book nerd, then I see a Star Wars nerd and I feel much better.

90% of the EU is/was hot garbage and half of it contradicted the other half.

Not that I agree with the OP but what the frick does a movie that is taking place in a galaxy far far away have to do with the feelings of a few women who can;t handle that men generally are superior to women?

Virtually no one does, no matter how much the sjw's and their sympathizers in this thread try to favricate bigotry where it doesn't exist.

Many however want the best Star Wars movie possible, where choices are derived from trying to achieve that same goal.

When choices reek of pandering to non-existent social barriers that were torn down half a century ago, and those choices seem to have some impact on the production of a lesser film, people rightfully criticize.
