Yes really.
The bill doesn’t decriminalize pedophelia, it just punishes anal sex the same as vaginal sex. Allowing judges and prosecutors to have DEs return in a weakest broad law too.
California doesn’t have “Romeo and Juliet” laws so this at least give some descretion when it comes to forcing people to register as sex offenders.

Also worth noting the current age of consent in CA is 18 (16 in most states). There are a ton of high school seniors who are, by legal definition, sex offenders.
