Just saw Film Threat’s first reaction. Said it’s for kids, basically 4 episodes stitched together. They did like it better than the sequel trilogy though.

what a surprise

LOL. I wonder how much those "thrilling adventure" reviews cost. Is that expense factored into the cost of the movie?

Man, the first season of Mando restored my faith one last time in Star Wars. The subsequent ones killed it forever.

Add Pedro Pascal fatigue and I’m now actively hoping this turd bombs.

Sounds like just another episode of the TV show. Parents taking their kids to see it is the only way this might survive. Otherwise, this is going to fall off a cliff after opening weekend.

They have a small chance to save Star Wars next year for the 50th. I hear they are going to show the ORIGINAL film, without all of Lucas' "special" bullshite.

Restoring the legacy characters to prominence in a new set of films picking up after the original films and shitcanning the sequels would go a long way.

But, as it is, Mando and Grogu cannot afford "mixed" receptions. It needed to be a homerun to even have a chance. It's the equivalent of Star Trek: Insurrection - an episode script (or two) shot as a feature.

However much we think of Favreau, the damage to the brand is stark and palpable.

The only problem with this is the movie may be too long for kids.

but 4 episodes from which season?

4 season 1 episodes together would be awesome

I saw some twitter account say ur doesn’t pick up any of the storyline from the show, which is what I was hopping for because the Mandalor story line seemed wrapped up

yeah, this is unfortunate news in the OP.

I was hopeful they could turn it around. Looks like Favreau just never course corrected.

Damn.

Anal fissures? Was that the arse Soaker Star Wars tv show that I was hearing about a few years ago?

You know the one with Rosario Dawson.

I don't mind them doing a more kids friendly type content with Grogu, I just wish it had spun off more to be its own thing and let the Mando stuff be more in line with what it was in season 1. It has lost almost all of its Western vibe and just feels like Marvel content now.

This movie is doomed. It’s 5 years too late, is the main problem

I know I'll enjoy the movie, and I think there's enough Star Wars fans out there that the movie will make money, but I think these initial reviews are probably the fat lady singing on this movie being a true success.

My favorite part of these happenings are:

Bad Star Wars thing looks bad before release:

SW fans: Looks bad

Disney fans: You are toxic ist/phobes

Bad Star Wars thing has a not terrible opening:

SW fans: looks bad

Disney fans: OMG LOL! Suck it incels. "Go woke, go broke!" Right, losers? Just not your SW anymore!!!

Bad SW thing falls off, ends up failing or getting canceled:

SW fans: Figured. Looked bad.

Disney fans: well. . SW was always bad. This was always going to fail, just not for the reason you said.
