But I fricking hate Sandra Bullock, and the thought of watching a flick that may consist of long periods of time with just her (a la Castaway) makes me want to punch people.
How is Sandra Bullock hateable? I love me some Sandy. I don't know how she'll do in this role, but I still love her.

I was thinking the same thing.

I think people started hating her because of the Blind Side (no idea why though).

I don't love her, but I definitely don't hate her and she certainly wouldn't turn me off from seeing a movie.

So is this going to be one of those motion capture things, or did the cgi just make their faces look cartoonish?

Well, I didn't start hating her because of the Blind Side, but she had no business winning an Oscar for that role.

I just don't think she's a great actress. In that whole trailer, her "panicked" acting makes me want to drown kittens. It is forced as frick and annoying as shite.

Just CGI not formatted for a small screen.

I think I get what you're trying to say, but isn't all acting basically "forced"?

Found this posted in another forum, but it didn't have a source link with it, so I have no idea where it came from.

quote:

An average two hour film (ie. a non-Michael Bay/Paul Greengrass cut-a-thon) has around 1,300-1,500 shots. Gravity only has 156 shots in the entire movie, many of them six, eight, ten minutes long.

Chris deFaria, who oversees development of VFX and animation at Warners, recounts his conversation with Cuaron about it - "I said, 'How long?' And he said he wanted the first shot to be really long. And I said, 'You mean, 40 seconds?' 'No, 17 minutes.'"

Jesus.

Some of those one shots in CoM are intense. This could be insane.

I've hated this bitch long before she turned in that shite performance for which she was given a fricking Oscar.

I don't hate Sandra Bullock. It's just hard to take her seriously as an actress when all she's done for the past decade or so are rom-coms and terribly shitty, overrated fluff oscar movies like Blind Side and Crash (coincidentally those are probably two of the worst AA winners in the history of film). I love Cuaron and would like to see a better actress in this role, but that's just my humble opinion

Something tells me that will be the only intense portion of the film and the rest will drag out with Bullock floating through space having a drama filled conversation with Clooney.

Trailers are so dishonest these days that the movie is probably a buddy comedy about Bullock and Clooney going fishing.

I definitely get his point, but it didn't detract from that awesomely terrifying scene.
