I love Lucy
The Lucy show
Bewitched
I dream of Jeannie
Mary Tyler moore show
Bob Newhart show
Newhart
Taxi
The odd couple
Basically anything on nick at nite

I’d go over to their house and eat popcorn with real melted butter and immerse myself in the 1960s and 70s without even knowing it.

I wish my grandparents hadn’t been busts. That sounds fun.

I was lucky. My grandparents were basically a second set of parents but more fun.

My paw paw used to watch the noon news on WWL with Bill Elder. I don’t know why I remember that but I do.

He was a former professional boxer so anytime he could find boxing on tv, he would watch it. I watched Tyson lose at his house.

Golden Girls
20/20 (Hugh Downs, Barbara Wawa)
Inside Edition
Larry King sometimes

More memorable than TV was listening to Rush on their first gen Bose radio in the house for years. Hit me hard when I heard him announce his diagnosis live on the air and I knew that the end of that run/connection of memories was going to end.

The only thing I remember ever being on the TV when I was with my paw-paw, which was probably half my weekends and most of the summers growing up at camps, was the news.

And it just pissed him off to no end. The only tv signals we got were NOLA. And NOLA pissed him off to no end.

I imagine it was that way for most in the Houma area.

My mom is 82 and still loves watching old Murder She Wrote episodes. Mom suffers from dementia so she doesn’t really remember the plots of the episodes. Mom does have a framed autographed photo from Angela landsburry.

It’s not television but my mom and I would listen to Jerry Clower records during the late 70’s.

Lawrence Welk. In the Heat of the Night. Matlock. Touched by an Angel. shite tons of news.

God we hated Lawrence Welk. Even our parents groaned when we said we were forced to watch.

My grandparents lived in Nakatrash parish (yeah, I get to call it that as I actually lived there) and when I visited in the mid 70's, we watched primarily western-themed shows.

But I can't remember the exact shows because my focus was on MaMaw, as she parroted the TV. She repeated / verbalized the main characters of any show, and commercials. It was about then I realized how lonely her and my grandfather was...they had church and a few neighbors, but they weren't close to anyone. Can get lonely out in the country if you isolate yoyurself.
