Didnt watch Lawrence Welk with them

Damn....I had an aunt and uncle who loved that shite. I'd get dragged to their house knowing good and well it was Lawrence Welk or PBS for "Are You Being Served?". I still get a little pissy thinking about that.

Wheel of Fortune with my Grandma
Hell yea. If I was sick and couldn't to school, I'd go to my grandmas house and my grandma would make me some cinnamon butter toast with a glass of milk and some Bob Barker on the tube. Lovely times.

Hee Haw, Carol Burnett, All in the Family. Years later I would watch Murder She Wrote with my grandmother.

My grandfather and I avidly followed Secretariat's Triple Crown campaign. He died unexpectedly a few months later.

Tour of Duty.

Always pissed my grandfather off, who was a three tour Vet, but grandma liked it so we watched it.

Paint it Black is still my favorite song of all time though.

I was a late in life baby so watching TV with my parents was like watching with grandparents. So Lawrence Welk and Dean Martin were my mother's and Bonanza and Gunsmoke were my father's favorite particularly because my father grew up with Festus on Gunsmoke. They were neighbors and went to school together in Colorado.

One grandmother watched Matlock and the other watched Murder She Wrote, I miss them both but I was always closer to my maternal grandmother that watched Matlock.

Me and my grandad would watch MASH at night when I’d spend the night with my grandparents. He was a WW2 POW , He loved that show, it was always nice to see him laugh after all he’d been through.
