Overall, I liked this season and thought the finale and last few episodes were quite good. I'd probably give the season a 7/10, whereas the first was a 9 IMO.
The one issue that annoys me to no end in these threads is when people constantly complain about their favorite characters not 'winning.' I see that crop up over and over again (Silicon Valley threads are another example). It feels like people want to live vicariously through their entertainment. Everything does not have to be a Choose Your Own Adventure story where everything works out in the end. 95% of TV/Movies deal with happy endings; go watch those shows if it bothers you this much.
With that said, I think there is a lot of room for complaints about how some of the stories played out this year. I was happy with the endings for all of the characters but there was a lot that frustrated me this season. There were many examples where things came together in a way that weren't supported well; one from last night would be Ray just figuring out that the photographer was one of the kids from the robbery. He had been focusing on the case for months and it just came together so they could advance the story.

I think it ended with some kind of closure or resolution, which is nice. It's just that I have no idea what was going on for most of the series nor do I really know of anyone or their names other than the three main characters.

quote:Yep, it's ok to nitpick the final 2 or 3 deaths, but overall, it made for a heck of a last couple of shows.
I thought he wrapped it up kinda nicely
it was the set up that he didn't know how to do this time

Why would they dig a grave if #1 was ever in their original plans?
that is why it would make more sense that they would leave him wounded, just like they did
which is why I think the guy asking for his suit was planned
thus...the money did nothing

Here is one thing that gets me.... Ray told ani to stay with the sister until he gets back and they can go to a police station so she can confess. The sister was their ticket to freedom, and would have been able to implicate everyone in the Vinci hierarchy.
Why the frick did ani just decide to drop her at a train station and give up on that one chance they had at clearing their names??
She pretty much explains this word for word in the scene at the bus station. Something along the lines of "you shouldnt have to pay for their lifetime of frickups and corruption" hinting that her testimony would proabably wind up getting her killed.
Also when Valcoro told Ani to keep her there and wait till he comes back to bring her to a police station, Ani tries to stop Ray from leaving to talk about it, but he storms out ignoring her.
It's not as glaring of a plot-hole if you watch it again.

well they had her testimony recorded so maybe RM was saving her from having to testify in person? idk...that's kinda what I gathered

Yep, she sure does.
A few people are ITT just looking for a reason to hate this show/finale.

Or maybe her testifying would bring down the entire ring of corruption and everyone involved would face punishment?

testimony takes place in a court, sending her off assures this won't happen. a taped conversation by ray and ani doesn't mean shite. they need the girl.
there is really now way to defend her actions. countless innocent people are dead(woodrough, deangelo barksdale's mom, etc). The sister is the one person that could bring everyone down(not to mention clear her and velcoro).

I agree with all of that. But don't forget, they have other evidence as well. But I do agree that the girl's testimony would be a frickin' grand slam.
BTW, my biggest quam with the plot was the skin tone of the brother and sister. They looked very exotic in the pictures as kids, but are both caucasian as can be later in life.

very convoluted with lots of big things explained with one-off lines, contrived coincidences, and the like
what was a bigger coincidence, that the CHP officer that found casper's body had a gay fling years back with a security guard from the shady company that casper was involved with? or that the other officer assigned to the case happened to have a sister who was conveniently involved with the sex parties that were being investigated AND her dad happened to be buddies back in the day with the guys that orchestrated these sex parties?

That was a brutal ending, but as was evidenced in the first season these organized crime rings are too big to bring down. They just jettison a few people and move on.

I'm just glad that I don't have to hear guitar gal moaning and whining in that crappy bar anymore.

Loved the finale, but I laughed pretty hard when she was playing to an empty bar.

Did we ever find out if it was officially the kid from little big league?
I realize typing this out was probably more difficult than just going to IMBD, but I dont wanna!

The girl went over a lot of people's heads. She was not meant to be taken literally. Instead, she was moreso an allegorical tool and those depressing lyrics were actually focused on themes throughout the series.
Odd? Yes. Yet, still legit.
