I hated that Rust and Marty had thick french/cajun accents. we don't all talk that way.

I had watched all the episodes within the last 72 hours as my first time seeing them. Didn't take it for much more than a crime drama/mystery.
In reality I should have been looking at it as a romantic drama between two friends I think. The crime aspect was just a side story that in the end had little clue to the final outcome.

you cant tie up every lose end and that's the beauty of it. who gives a shite if the biker gang or martys kids were dead ends, it was great TV and a mystery.

It had a big effect on the final outcome and the journey to get to that place. It just didn't mean what you first thought that it meant.

How was it abandoned?
It was set out as they were trying to bring down some big raping/killing/kidnapping/occult gang and it turned into being satisfied with one half-breed in the woods.
It's what it is. Everyone was led to speculate on the murder aspect the whole time and it turns out to be something else in the end.
I won't say that the writing was weak, it went where the writer wanted it to go. Next season I won't be worried about them solving the crime and will follow the detective drama more.

How was this case any different than any of the other presumed murder cases they solved in previous years?
I can see how duality and good/evil are laid out in the case, but that holds true for any murder case.

It set out finding the killer of Dora Lange, through that they discovered connections to the cult. They found the murderer, but didn't spell out the details of the cult. That doesn't mean they abandoned anything. Marty summed it up pretty thouroughlt at the end.

from what i can gather on reddit, a lot of people summarize the show as this....
phenomenal acting and directing make up for writing that started out strong(by tying together 2 different timelines) and weakened over time.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not.
