Kind of gimmicky with all night (done in 30 Days of Night and the opposite in Insomnia) and those two detectives had no chemistry but they did have the right sex and ethnicity. Pass.

With all of the arguing, it looks more like 'In the Heat of the Night' than 'True Detective'.

Yes because you can definitely tell they have no chemistry in the 10 seconds of time they had together in the trailer.

I'm gonna look at this like Perry Mason, meaning if it's well made, well written, and the actors can emote properly...I will grit my teeth through the impending wokeness. And Perry Mason, it's pretty mild. I don't think it's going to be mild here.

I'm thinking this is going to borrow heavily from the Dyatlov Pass incident, spooky death but ending with an Occam's razor explanation.

Blatant callback to season 1 with the spiral which I don't think I like. You make the show either a connection between the two which I'm assuming will be very convoluted or it was a cheap trick to get hard core fans into it. Either way it'll probably end up being stupid. This is like the third or fourth show that will have used the spiral as well, it's becoming the mystery plotline batsignal.
