Jake Lloyd anyone?

He's just a child. I call that bad casting and terrible script.

Natalie Portman - democratically-elected robot-princess Padme, worst name ever, should have known better.

I look at it as “professional actors have higher standards expected of them.”

Complete amateurs, like Elvis in the 50s and 60s, can be laughably bad but you don’t expect them to be able to put on an Academy Award performance.

OTOH, you have people like Cage who HAVE won awards putting up shite performances in that list.

$10 says that Wiggins either wore glasses normally or used to wear glasses normally before the film before possibly replacing them with contacts.

Grabbing your nose and closing your eyes is a tic associated with people who have glasses on their face all the time.

Agreed. I often argue that this movie was actually not a bad flick if you can ignore her performance.

I say the same. It sucks because originally Julia Roberts was cast but had to drop out and then it was Winona Ryder but she had to drop out at the last minute due to illness so he went with his daughter. The movie would be seen in a completely different light if one of them had been in the role instead.

That film had other problems unrelated to Sofia.

Them having to completely rewrite the film because they lowballed Robert Duvall and he told them to frick off comes to mind. Michael vs Tom Hagen would have been better than what we got.

Another issue is that Tom Hagen was written out of the film because of a salary dispute between Duvall and the studio producers. The original Godfather III script had the chasm between Tom Hagen and Michael as the central storyline which could have been amazing. Instead Duvall was replaced by George Hamilton who might as well have been background scenery in that movie because he was given nothing to do in that role.

How about RZA from The Man With the Iron Fists. That might be the worst acting I've ever seen.

and Sofia Coppola should be much higher. Her "acting" is legit worse than everyone else on that list

I think they give her a pass because she was an emergency fill in and never expressed any desire to be an actor.

That having been said... yeah. Her acting stunk on ice.

I know everything about The Room has become a cliche, but Wiseau’s performance in that film is hands down the worst in history. It isn’t just that he’s a bad actor. Watching him “act” is like watching an alien in a human suit try to blend in. English is clearly not his first language, but it’s more than his speech patterns that seem unfamiliar. His emotional patterns - things that transcend language or cultural differences - are bizarre and discordant to the viewer. A bad actor may over or underact when he tries to be sad or angry, but at least we generally understand why the character would be experiencing those emotions given what’s going on in the movie. Wiseau shifts abruptly from anger or pain to jollity with no intervening spectrum. He’s simply in anguish one second, and jovial the next. Humans do not work that way.

The problem with this list is that it's hard to separate a Bad Movie from bad acting...Sometimes the movies are so bad that even a decent actor can't help it...Example: The Wild Wild West. Wil Smith and Kevin Klein did about as good as could be expected in this horrible reboot but it was a hopeless cause.

Absolutely! I love this flick and every single time I watch it, I think to myself that this is one of the worst acting jobs I've ever seen.

For example, Beyonce has been beyond atrocious in pretty much every movie she's been in outside of Dream Girls. She delivers every line with a flat monotone delivery and there is zero believability in her characters when you see her on-screen outside of Dream Girls when she basically played herself.

I cant imagine a worse performance in an animated movie than she provided for Lion King.

Pacino could be on the list multiple times. Scent of a Woman alone should give him a Lifetime Achievement Award.
