Prometheus
Good premise. Terrible execution.

The characters were so damn scattered in their actions and personalities were just terribly schizophrenic.

the hobbit trilogy
Tried to do too much with too little source material.

The movie would have been far better as either a solo movie or as two movies.

It required too much filler, which became overly childish, due to lack of material to work with.

I disagree that Green Lantern belongs on this list. It perfectly captured the spirit and essence of the Silver Age GL comics. So it really sits atop my list of favorite/best DC comics movies. Yes I am a Boomer. Get over it kiddies.
I'm in my early 50's and was a big GL fan growing up, I was pumped up for it.

Remember, it came out around the same time as Thor, which was right after Iron Man opened the floodgates. We kinda thought it was comic book movies, not just MCU, that would flourish. I remember GL getting more hype and excitement than Thor.

It deserves a place on the list . It almost singlehandedly killed the DC brand.

Who knew they made Zoolander 2?

If it had been made a year later, would Eyes Wide Shut (1999) be as disappointing as Vanilla Sky? I know a guy that was very mad that Nicole Kidman didn't show them. Apparently, he went thinking she would.

This is not a bad list.

With the obvious glaring omission of the new Star Wars movies, that list is actually pretty decent.

Dumb and Dumber To was one of the worst comedies I've ever seen. Jim Carrey seemed like he was doing an impression of himself

Lots of horrible and disappointing comedic sequels the past decade

Zoolander 2
Dumb & Dumber Too
Anchorman 2
The Hangover 2&3

etc.

Most sequels are a step down but these were all exceptionally awful. No reason for them to exist, they were are very forced and it showed.

Scoob, just wondering if you aren’t too young to remember the Silver Age of DC comics. No disrespect intended. I might be too old to remember the later GL offerings that you might have grown up on. I quit reading comics in my mid teens. Just curious

You might want to rewatch Eyes Wide Shut. You, or he, missed what you were looking for.

For someone who loves the Indiana Jones trilogy Crystal Skull was an obvious disappointment. Movie should have never been made

i really enjoyed dumb and dumber to..i'm in the minority there. the obvious number 1 for me was ID4 pt 2.. talk about a wasted opportunity. hobbit trilogy was so bad, it prevents me from ever watching LOTR again. i'd say Creed as well. If ur gonna put Creeds name on a movie, ya gotta give me more than that.

I liked Prometheus, but the story was unnecessarily dense and created too many bullshite, pretentious discussions among moviegoers.

Maybe so, I forget what years that covered.

I read Green Lantern when he was teamed up with Green Arrow and Black Canary. All Hal Jordan back then. I quit reading it before the 80's started.

I seriously don’t get the hate for Prometheus. I can understand the dislike for Covenant though.

Didn’t read the whole thread, but I thought American Hustle was one of the dumbest, most overrated movies I’ve ever seen. I was laughing in embarrassment at that shite

Then you read a later form of GL. Silver Age was mostly 50’s-60’s. My GL was solo; Hal Jordan. No teaming up except in Justice League comics.
