Vanilla Sky may not be as sharp as its critically-acclaimed predecessor (Abre Los Ojos), but it's just cooler and more entertaining. So in no way was it disappointing.

Disappointing means you have high expectations or a reasonable belief that the movie will be good based on a track record or director/actors.
Most of the movies on the list don't meet this criteria as they are just movies that popped up and weren't part of a long cultural discussion.
Bond movie
The Matrix
Indiana Jones
Spider-Man
Prometheus
Terminator franchise
Jurassic Park
Meet this criteria.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull has to be the most disappointing of the bunch based on the long history of the franchise.
Prometheus is second based on the long wait for a beloved franchise.
Prometheus could be number one based on the anticipation but nothing really beats the soul crushing Crystal Skull. It just had to be an average fun film and fans would've still loved it. But, alas.

Then you read a later form of GL. Silver Age was mostly 50’s-60’s.
Re this list, I'm gonna guess box office has something to do with it.
You simply can't put any of the Star Wars movies on this if they made over 1 billion apiece... as bad as they were, they produced.
I agree that TLJ should be #1 on the list as far as actual story.

Southland Tales (2006)
I really wanted to like this movie. I had no idea what the frick was going on, but it is beautifully filmed. Apparently you have to read a graphic novel prequel to understand it.

Hangover Part 2 is still funny as hell to me.
Hangover Part 3? F that pile of trash.

Hard to argue with that list. However, I would personally move Independence Day: Resurgence into the top 5. That was 2 hours of my life I will never get back.

Crystal Skull and Prometheus have to be #1 and 2 on any list like this.

Every action scene was butchered by the editors
Yea maybe so, maybe im thinking too fondly of it as I haven't seen it in awhile.
I just remember it being a cool movie when I saw it and more action than Casino Royale even though Royale is better.
