The Sandlot needs to move up, Home Alone needs to move down.

Jumanji moves up, Hook dropped off the list.

Need at least 1 Jim Carrey movie, but not The Mask. Ace Ventura was what I most associated him with as a kid in the 90s, though I think Liar Liar was his best work and Dumb and Dumber was obviously his best movie.

Matilda might be a time and place movie. I was the perfect age and temperament to love that movie when it came out and watched it every time it was on tv. Danny Devito's narration takes me back to my childhood every time I hear it.

For me at least... and I was born in 1980 so I'm probably skewed a bit compared to kids born in the mid to late 80s.

In no particular order:
The Sandlot
Dumb & Dumber
Braveheart (I have probably watched this more than any other movie...)
Titanic
The Lion King
Aladdin
Jurassic Park
Forrest Gump
Home Alone
The Matrix

I very much disagree with this list, but I could see it more if the author of the list was female.

08. The Mask (1994)
07. Matilda (1996)
06. Aladdin (1992)
05. Home Alone (1990)
04. The Lion King (1994)
03. Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
02. Toy Story (1995)
01. Jurassic Park (1993)

Not a bad list, but Sandlot needs to be top 3 at least. Unless you didnt have friends or play baseball growing up. Sandlot was my childhood put on screen. Except I was more Benny than I was Smalls

Boomer? You are a bit off with your generations.

You are right about one thing - grouping them by decade is misleading.

I’m a gen-xer guy - Mid 80s to early 90s. Anything made in 80 (except Empire), 81, and 82 feel old (like bell bottoms) to me.

I’d say the mid-80s Footloose, Karate Kid, and Back to the Future were way more my generation than say E.T. (Early 80s).

I’m gonna steal this topic and create an 80s (by generation) list soon.

Born in '84. This list hits home with me. I was obsessed with sports as a kid (and still am), and the '90s were GOAT for kids sports movies.

The Sandlot
Rookie of the Year
Little Big League
Little Giants
Mighty Ducks
Mighty Ducks 2
Cool Runnings
The Big Green
Angels in the Outfield
Space Jam

I'm sure there are some I'm forgetting...

Honorable Mentions:

The Sandlot (1993)

10. Hook (1991)

08. The Mask (1994)

06. Aladdin (1992)

02. Toy Story (1995)
01. Jurassic Park (1993)

Being Iconic to 90s kids shouldnt mean made in the 90s. I would replace a couple with:

The Mighty Ducks
Field of Dreams
Indiana Jones movies (all three originals)
Terminator movies

about to drop one I can’t believe hasn’t been mentioned and then an underrated 90s Classic:

Kindergarten Cop

First Kid

Oh and a Kid in King Arthur’s Court

Man we were lucky, some absolute classics we grew up with.

What about Galaxy Quest? I know it's a stretch bit I would have loved this movie, even as a kid.
