Frances McDormand plays a woman distraught over her daughter’s rape and murder. She is so upset that she has three billboards near town set up to blame the police chief (played by Woody Harrelson) for failing to solve the crime. These billboards slowly tear the town apart.

Great movie.

Isn’t it partially based on a true story?

Saw it in theatre and didn’t care for it. Martin McDanagh is very hit and miss for me. Absolutely LOVE In Bruges but didn’t like billboards or banshees of Inesherin. Seven Psychopaths was ok

Any movie where they can successfully flip a character is a win.

Underrated actor. I really liked him in Moon, which is also underrated great movie directed by David Bowie's son.

It came across like a wannabe Coen Bros movie

It was fine.

Everyone falling over themselves to heap praise on Frances McDormand that year was a bit over the top though.
