I think y'all are missing the mark completely. It's a discussion thread. This isn't FB. It's a message board...where people post messages about different topics. This one happens to be TWD and about this episode. Maybe the fact that there were a lot of things wrong with it is why there is a lot of bitching and complaining? I don't think anybody is doing it 'for attention" as much as this is just the place to do it.
Also, most people here are fans of the show. We like it. And maybe that is one reason why we are frustrated with how stupid it is sometimes, or how short it falls from where it could be. I know for me, it's not "Hey, look at me hating on this popular thing because I think that's what the cool kids do!!" but rather "Damn, man...this show that I like keeps falling in quality and I don't like that and wish it would do better."
TWD's biggest problem, IMO, is that it knows how popular it is. Because that means it doesn't have to try as hard. And IMO they aren't trying as hard as they should be (or used to be), because they know people will eat it up no matter what.

Even though there are some things worth complaining about, it’s just magnified and blown out of proportion on this board... any worthwhile discussion gets buried and sandwiched in between countless shots at the show, and it’s just a little tiresome, that’s all... but I’m done, I’ve stated my case

Or Carl...I am always ready and willing to discuss that little twerp count and how useless and awful he is, and how much he legit looks like a girl now. I hate few things in entertainment like I hate that piece of shite.

Without reading everything you said in this thread, can you list some things about this episode that you actually thought were good? Like things that you enjoyed.
Otherwise this thread just becomes a retroactive "thats a thing that happened."
In my opinion the stupidity of the show has made predicitons impossible. You are REQUIRED to consider the poor quality of writing to predict the show because the show will 100% use bad writing.... "Rick will choose not to kill Negan for 7 episodes and then suddenly decide to get into a brutal fist fight instead of shooting him, while everyone watches inexplicably without stepping in and then Rick will some how stick Negans head in that fire place thing".

Yeah what the hell was that? It was always bad, but for some reason I thought her accent was big time out of control this entire episode. She sounds like someone with a brain injury, is deaf, and has rocks in her mouth, trying to do that accent.

Season 8 Premier had 11 million viewers, down from last year's 17 million.
3rd worst of any season yet. Season 1 & 2 had the lowest amount of viewers.
Seems the show is still very popular but people are losing interest at a rapid pace.
I, for one, had no idea the premier was last week until Monday morning.
And for all those bitching about the bitching...I once loved this show. I want it to be great again,but I will continue to berate it when it's bad.

I agree, in general I can put up with some of the awful writing and dialog as long as it is somewhat interesting.
Like everyone would agree Negan standing out front was absolutely ridiculous but what is really the point of complaining about it 100eps deep

Season 7 weeded out some fans due to Negan killing Glenn and Abe. Also it was a rather weak season. Hopefully they bounce back

I liked how they immediately got to work on a plan to finish off the Saviors and acted on it in the first episode....
And then they completely didn't accomplish jack shite. So that kind of ruined the whole episode.

Tara should have never woken from the coma. It would have helped Eugene in character, and closed out the Glenn, Abraham, rosita, Eugene and Tara scenario.
Her character is now pointless, I forget she was even with the governor. They tried to hook her up with a character who was more interesting, and killed that one off. Her sister was more interesting.
I don't see why Daryl is still around either. I liked his character, but he should have been gone before the Negan situation, so we could say, "man I wish Daryl was here, he wouldn't have taken shite from negan and Rick could have used his help". He's borderline superhero.

Maybe the two graves Rick is standing above in the first episode will be bookended in the final of the season as Carl and michonne's graves.
