Not really. Walkers don't drown so the herd would simply fall in mindlessly and stack on top of each other until they formed something like a walker landfill that the others walked right on top of. I mean, the herd is 20 deep all around the walls. That's a lot of "fill". It'd work for several just not thousands.

Those Alexandrians had a false sense of security. All they did was put up wall and thought that would be all the secruity they needed. Most of them are pathetic and have no clue how to live in that world.

The peculiar thing about Alexandria is that they came up with a good story on why the Walkers never got unmanageable, the quarry, but they don't have a good explanation how a community full of candy asses sitting on those kind of resources never got overrun by the real threat, other people. WTF is the deal with the Wolves not having guns? How do you run a successful gang that's ruthless enough to manage their walker traps and not have managed to pick up a few guns along the way?

I said a few weeks ago that keeping tons of walkers around the town is great security against the threat of outside humans. Maybe not ten thousand, but having hordes of them surrounding the city makes for a great deterrent for anybody wanting to frick with your town.

You can always burn them whenever it gets too full, it's like a moat of crocodiles.

Although I was thinking about this last night...how/why are the walkers pounding on the walls of Alexandria? We know that they basically just wander around aimlessly until something (noise, food, etc.) grabs their attention and the react to/follow it. But why are they at Alexandria and actively trying to get in? Sure, the horn went off and that's what initially attracted them in that direction, but once it went off they shou8ld've just wandered around bumping into shite for eternity. Just because they arrive at a fortified city wall shouldn't mean that they automatically want to get in (in fact, they shouldn't even know what "get inside the wall" means...they have no thought activity). It just doesn't make any sense, and was sort of aggravating since it's basically only there to create tension/drama
Come on cocomo, don't be that guy

if you could somewhat control them via like fencing, then yes it would be an interesting idea to work with

Those sewer zombies were some of the most decomposed we've seen in the show...and Maggie still couldn't push one off of her?
Rick`s hand sure healed quickly and I can't believe they didn't show how he got out of the RV...he was freaking surrounded.
Watched the last seconds multiple times,Def blood coming through a hole in the fence, not a Crack. Why is this important?

I know there are thousands...but why not make a sharp point and kill hundreds of them from the top of the wall? Are they concerned about the dead walkers piling up and the others climbing on top?

How did Rick get out of situation in RV that wouldn't start and hundreds of walkers coming at him?
Walkers were all coming from one side if you watch closely... probably got out and ran for it... which is what this episode eluded to.

Remember how they ended up smashing each other at the RV wall? That's probably what's happening. Do they push hard enough to take the wall down? Do they start piling up and allow some to get over the top?

I'm just saying that the walkers and their behavior should (at least try to) be consistent.

You're trying to use logic and reason why things happen in a show about zombies. You just need to accept things won't make sense and watch the show.

If they have any type of explosives and they can pack them around with small items (rocks, ball bearings, small pieces of metal, even small pieces of wood) and somehow rig them to explode around 5-6 feet high they could take out tons of walkers for each such mini bomb. It doesn't take much of a brain injury to kill these things.
Then again, I understand that this is not that kind of show. Otherwise they would have long ago perfected formations of armored, tightly drilled fighters with thrusting spears or pikes and swords and gone on systematic walker elimination missions.
