Are you comparing her to the TV show version? Because the TV show is the one who diverted from the source material so you’re not really comparing the same characters if so

As a huge fan of the graphic novel, watching Episode 6 “The Sound of her Wings” was just such perfection. A real treat to see those stories come to life.

Mods need to clean this board up.

This ain’t the Poli board and you’re not talking about a show anymore.

Just got through the first episode.

Alex was underdeveloped. They made it look like Paul messed with the circle on purpose.

Other than that, it was perfect.

Wife and I got through the Diner episode last night and hooooooly frick...what a ride.

I'm re-reading the comics now. It's amazing how well they've nailed bringing some of the art from the books to life on the screen. I'm enthralled.

DGAF about gender-swaps. If Gaiman likes it, I likes it.

Plus Jenna Louise-Coleman is ALWAYS welcome on my television screen. (RIP Clara)

Not in the comics no. The guards start slacking on their job and he takes advantage of it somehow, I can't remember.

I fished episode 8 last night. There really is an abnormal amount of gay people in this It's whatever, but each episode I'm like o whelp, here we go.

I remember wishing there was more of the Corinthian in the comics. Glad they added him some more, he's a great character. If you're going to give him more screen time, might as well make him gay is the motto.

He was already gay in the comics- or that was his predilection in victims I think

For him. I get the impression that sex is just a tool to reach his goals. If a woman had been house-sitting for Rose, he would have been perfectly content to frick her as well, because a roll in the hay (with whomever) got him closer to finding Rose and her brother.

The antagonist in one of the Matthew Scudder books was very much like that. I cannot recall which book at the moment. The character was so indifferent to the gender of his sex partner that it bordered upon the asexual.

QUESTION FOR COMIC READERS:

On the show, Rose looks tiny, and she made a comment at the Doll House that no one ever believes she is an adult. So I did some research and found that the actress is quite tall. They must be using camera angles to make her look so tiny.

Why? Was the character tiny in the comics? Was her size an important plot point?

Didn't realize that, Just looked it up. Looks like it's the second Corinthian that had a boyfriend, not this one.

Neil's books have always been very, VERY gay.

There's a trans character in The Sandman originally.

He has 100% always been an ally and told LGBTQ stories back when LGBTQ people didn't have a voice.

I'm about 3/4 through and have really enjoyed it, but there's so much homosexuality that it takes away from the series. This is especially true in E5: 24/7 where it could be taken that the underlying message is that heterosexuality is simply a lie.

O I know. he lashed out at people calling this woke saying his story was woke before that was even a thing. There's just so much of it. If I'm reading it right, its not until Dream creates a new Corinthian that the Corinthian is gay. I'm just saying I think it is a bit much to add more in when there has already been a ton. Him making out and banging that dude was pretty unnecessary to the story, that's just throwing more in.

Like I've said, it's whatever and I'm enjoying the series and I think they've done a very good comic series justice, which I didn't think they could do. It's just so gay it's distracting

Yep, none of the gay stuff made any sense to be in there. I don't have a problem with gay stuff as long as it made sense. The most appropriate example I can give is in Black Sails. The dude admired his superior so much he fell in love and everything he did was devoted to him. THAT adds to the story. When it's thrown in for good measure, it takes away from the story and being able to get full attention.

Sense 8 was fun until it got too much and it was just thrown in for good measure.

I obviously didn't read the comics but Briennes acting was just bad. She did not come off as deceiving and malicious. The writing tried but her betrayal of it did not convince me.

The fight between Lucifer and Dream was dumb af too. I mean who doesn't just expect "Hope" to be the end-all? So cliche. They basically just played a rock paper scissors and both were cheating. "Oh yeah, meteor beats rock!"

I think she was. She looked enough like a child that the child rapist dude wanted to rape her, thinking she was a child.
