Want to like this, but man, fell asleep during the 2nd episode.

And scissorin' Clara (Dr. Who companion) should have been more interesting.

It picks up, episode one does the heavy lifting on exposition.

Overall I liked it, but the season felt very disjointed. The different story lines just didn’t flow well together.

That's how i felt when I read the book. That being said, aren't dreams like that? Not exactly flowing and pick up at different points?

Intentional or not, that made me really enjoy the whole thing. When I saw the trailer, I was curious how they could do this for a TV show for audiences who haven't read the source.

It felt very episodic. It was good but everything early on that I thought Would be the season arc resolved that episode.

Honestly it’s a bit refreshing to have a TV show that’s willing to be a TV show and actually put thought into individual episode arcs instead of the same usual build up to the end of the season with 4 filler episodes

Let TV be TV sometimes instead of just 8 hour movies

I'm enjoying this for the most part.

Well written, cast well, easy to follow, not trying to do too much at once.

But Patton Oswalt's voice just pulls me the frick out of it. He doesn't seem to be doing a character, it's just Oswalt chatting along in his whackety shmackety-doo stand up voice.

Other than that, it's a nice little series.

How did it take 6 pages for someone to finally mention how that voice throws every scene off so much?

It's really bad, like dubbed in bad.

Everything else is fine for what it is.

Sorry, I just started watching it last night.

Oswalt pops up and it instantly switches from Dark Shadows to The Munsters.

BTW, the scenes I've seen with Cain and Abel were spot on and appropriately darkly funny for the series. As soon as I saw Gregory flying around, I got a huge smile on my face. :)

I like the show and I like Patton Oswald but there are moments where you just think “this isn’t Ratatouille 2, what’s with the voice?”

They went queer before the end of the first episode and in the upcoming previews, showed what looked like a tranny.

Out.

I’m with you on that. And I think in the right situation Payton Oswalt is hilarious. But he’s kind of like Gilbert Godfried. That voice is so identifiable, it seems almost fake as a voiceover (outside of maybe full on cartoons)

Holy shite we got to Episode 6. As soon as I saw the park bench I told my wife we were hitting the best episode.

Like watching great episodes of Twilight Zone, X-Files, and Highlander, all wrapped into one.

Episodes 5 and 6 were both like gritty twilight zone episodes. Loved both of them

Wrapped up the series tonight and it ended up being a winner. Very pleased with this. Up there with Peacemaker as a top level DC series.

Episode 5 was crazy. Just spiraled.

Ep 6. was impressive. Reminded me of proper Dr Who, back when it was great.
